Hi, my site is having a problem. The normal pages aren't indexing (homepage, contact page, etc). Only the category (category of the posts), the posts themselves and the "author of the posts page" are indexing. Did anyone face a problem of this sort before?

I've changed the theme today to see if it will help and fixed some details. Will update this thread later to see if I can resolve that problem, but would like to know if anyone else faced this problem.

Is your site brand new? If yes you have to wait a little bit... Or you can try to submit a sitemap from GWT, or try to Fetch and Index from GWT.

It's kinda new but it had already plenty of time to be properly indexed, I guess it might be due to the old theme or some error related with sitemaps. I've changed the theme and I'm now waiting to see the changes.

Ok finally was able to get at least the hompeage indexed.

Here's some conclusions that I've taken. Why the category page, author and post page got indexed? Well, I think that G is alerted when a new post is made in a wp site, so it crawled the post page, therefor being indexed. Then the pages directly related to the post were indexed (category of the post and author).

I also think the theme I was using also messed with the indexing of the pages, that's why I changed it. This is no rocket science but I was curious to know why it happened. I know that with time everything will get properly indexed.
