    Hi,

I have an online e-commerce store.

I am really new to this internet marketing stuff.

I am not sure if blogging will help me get more traffic and weather that traffic will convert it to sells.

So what better place to ask this than the people full of internet marketing gurus?

    Can someone guide me?

Are there any benefits of blogging that I am overlooking ?

    Thanks.

Hey I'm not gonna lie... I've never made a dime blogging... I've only made money using a few methods... And I have yet to reach a sustainable income...

I think I have a decent grasp though... so...

I'm 99% positive blogging, if done right, can help you get sales.

Think about it... you create post about your niche... eventually you will start ranking those pages and get organic traffic. That organic traffic will be essentially free(besides hosting/theme/domain)... and targeted because they specifically went to your site based on keywords on your niche and CLICKING your site. Meaning more chance from a sale from them than some random(possibly) person via certain ads.

Of course this is based on a bunch of variables and such...

I assume your using social media marketing? fb?instagram?twitter? Are you managing accounts? Or are you buying ads?? Shoutouts?

Make sure you link your blog. Not only will it get you "regulars"... subscribers... or return customers... It will create a personality(if your going for that) or you can create your blog as an authority page on your niche and give info/provide products to the customers...

It prob wont be very useful/effective if you don't incorporate social media... or some other form of marketing...

but eventually you could put ads on your site... and make money that way too... (I wouldn't put it too early uness you have a lot of traffic via other sources like social media or ads)

Maintaining a blog helps to increase traffic to your online store. To build trust, blog about topics related to what you’re selling.

Other than this, you can also focus on the following,
    • Get a Pinterest account and start pinning
    • Join forums and Facebook groups to post your products on it.

    Hi Mate,

You will get the real benefit if you have proper and related content which related to your products. It will help to get more attention to the people who are all like to read the review in the story line. Make sure you keep on updating content on your blog.

    AND

    Welcome to BHW :)

Guys thanks a lot for the responses, they are very valuable!!!

One question though, now I understand that blogging will get me traffic.

What I dont understand is how to convert it to sales?

Just link my products in the content?

I plan to write a few hundred blog posts over a course of a few months (like 3 months).

    Is that a good plan?

And yes I am using social media accounts but at the moment I am just growing them, not linking my store from there.

Sorry for my english, I was too tired when I created the thread so I didn't notice the stupid mistakes I made :)

Regularly keeping your clientele updated by interesting content will surely keep them coming back for more. Yes you can link your product in the content, however try not to over-do it. You still want to show your potential client your not only interested in a Sale.

Yes, that's fine you can link your product to the content but make sure that it will not leave any footprints. And also try to link your social media's with your brand it will attract some more visitors.Good luck.
