Whether you make your money uploading videos to YouTube, blogging, freelancing or any other online based earning method, you aren't really locked down to a single location. You can move around your country or the world like many are doing as Digital Nomaders.
For the most part having internet in remote rural locations was either using a MIMO antenna with 4G or traditional satellite internet. Even with a 15 foot(~5 meter) antenna the 4G setup is only going to work if you are not too far from a cell tower. Most satellite internet is just rubbish with slow internet speeds as well as a small bandwidth caps. However with Starlink by SpaceX, the internet speeds are much much faster the bandwidth allocation is much much higher. It's actually a good internet service if you aren't doing anything that depends heavily on the ping times.
If you can work online and work anywhere, what is really the point of renting an apartment? There are comforts, however those comforts come at a cost, rent is pretty much throwing money away. I've spent around $30,000 in the past few years for rent. That amount of money could have gotten me a decent plot of land somewhere in America along with a nice strong canvas tent, solar panels and battery packs and a rugged laptop along with stuff I need to live and I still would have money left over that could have gone towards building a small cabin over a few months. As I would have more money to save and invest, I could expand and upgrade my home and property
Tent >> Cabin >> Mansion with fiber connection.
