One ore more Feed-Formats?

Hello,

does it makes sense to offer more than one feed-format? For example instead simply offering one feed.rss offering the same in atom ror and so on. Maybe putting all in the metatags too.

Does this make sense in the view of seo?

How about even offering more than one rss-feed like most social bookmarking- sites do.

Is it a good thing to have a lot of feeds to offer?

I can't see any benefits here.
If you use RSS 2.0 or ATOM then every feed portal should accept your feed - what else do you want to do with your feeds?

If you're offering more types, then this might help some feed-viewers which do not support one of types but from a SEO view it won't help.

You are talking about a specialized format like shown in the link you posted.

As far as I understood the question, the ts wanted to know if its useful to create more than one commonly accepted feed like RSS 2.0, RSS 0.9, ATOM, ...

And I replied that it only makes a difference if the programs that you use dont accept this feed. Of cource, when generating a google newsfeed you have to build a feed that google requires but there is no sense in generating an RSS 2.0 feed as well as an RSS 0.9 Feed from a SEO point of view

I think most crawler or websites can understand at least rss so maybe rss is the only needed. The only advantage from having different formats probably would be that a feed-crawling site can index more than one feeds. Which means more linkjuice.

Is it a good idea to have the same content you use on your site as feed again? Or would it be a problem?
