I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday. He's been my buddy for almost 11 years. Never imagined it would be this rough. He got sick with an aggressive form of cancer and it all happened so quick. As soon as I saw he was starting to feel pain, I had to do it. I promised myself from the time he was a puppy that I wouldn't put him through undue stress for my sake. I could never really relate to other people who have been in this situation, until now.

What you did was pretty selfless; you did the right thing. Sorry for the loss.

Man, sorry.. Just try to forget about it if you can. Take a walk in the park with someone. Just cheer up, listen to music.

I used to have a pet gerbil, and one day, I lost it. Seriously. I wonder where Bonkers went. I never realised how much I miss him till he went, hehe.

But you'l move on. Just hang out with friends, and try to forget about it.

He was an old man for an english bulldog. I tried to prepare myself, starting the day I got him as a puppy and found out his mean lifespan was 7.5 years old. It doesn't help to know it's coming except you can get in a little more spoiling and cuddling time. When he stopped going up the stairs on his own, I knew something was up and spent as much time as I could spoiling the hell out of him.

That is awesome. Great memorial for a great looking Shepherd! I'm sorry you lost her.

I posted some things to facebook but chose this site, bhw, to actually talk about it because I didn't want a bunch of phony sympathy. Just needed to get it off my chest. Maybe some day I'll be inclined to make a little memorial for him. Not today though.

Haha, ask Richard Gere where gerbils go to hide. Thanks for your odd way of relaying sympathy. A little laugh is good.
