Millions of guitarists (like myself) owe a huge
debt of gratitude to Jimi that can never be repaid.

    Fly on brother . . . .

Find a local teacher in your home town. That is how I started.
You can also find some free beginner lessons on Youtube.

    Best of luck! :)

Life long beautiful obsession with Hendrix. Never really gets old. Machine Gun CD at the Fillmore East!? o__O
Love him and Mitch Mitchell going toe to toe on Manic Depression and love how on 9 To The Universe the other musicians didn't see him as godlike. They saw him as a peer because they were jazz men. Hendrix Lives! [IMG]

Now this may be a huge shock, but "The wind cries Mary" was always my favorite of his. :D

I used to work for a ticket service in Houston ushering shows that came to Houston. I got to work a show in feb of 68 at the Houston Music Hall. it was the Houston stop of the Jimi Hendricks Experience tour. Those days the local scene provided "prep" bands, and along with Jimi, a local band called "the moving sidewalks" were performing (as well as Neil ford and the Fanatics and a band I forgot the name of.)

I do not remember neil ford, or the other band at all, but I remember two performers from that night.

It was a great concert, I still remember Jimi singing "Hey Joe" "The Wind cries Mary" and "Wild Thing", He was onstage for almost an hour.

But the thing I remember almost as much was a young guitar player for the moving sidewalks, named Billy Gibbons. He went on to become part of a better known Texas band later.

That was a HELL of a concert.

Ever wish you could time travel? Imagine being in this audience? I've been doing that since the
first time I heard it on cd.
