No offence to anyone who finds this video inspirational, but this is utter BS. His anecdotes are stupid and irrelevant to this point. "If I told you to get me $10,000 by tomorrow and I'll give you this $100,000 car, you would do whatever you can to get that $10K".

That's just stupid. You know why that's stupid? Because if he REALLY wanted to make it relevant to internet marketing, he would have said:

"If I told you to get me $10,000 by tomorrow and I'll give you this $100,000 car, would you do whatever you can to get that $10K? Just to let you know though, there's a very real possibility that nobody's going to buy this car off of you. It may or may not be stolen, that's a risk you have to take. Also, the value of the car is depreciating daily. Plus maintenance is high, you can't just keep it outside and leave it exposed to the elements. You will need to also rent out a storage garage until you find a buyer."

Going out and asking for a $10K loan to invest into something that will 100% guaranteed pay out 10x more is a no-brainer, but this concept is not applicable to IM at all. NOTHING in IM is guaranteed. As a matter of fact, even if he said "my buddy bought this exact same car off someone else for $10K yesterday and sold it today for $100K, and then his girlfriend did the same thing with another car!", you still wouldn't go out and ask for a $10K loan. Because we all know that even following the exact same foot steps of someone else who's making money does not guarantee that you will also make money. What works for one person may not work for the next, and even newbies know this.

What about his second BS anecdote? "If your loved one was sick and you need $40K to save their life...". Yeah, that's LITERALLY a life or death situation. The stakes are high. IM is probably never a matter of life or death for anyone. Instead it's a matter of either a mediocre life with a 9 to 5, or a better life, but never life or death. This vastly diminishes your propensity to take risks.

If my loved one was gonna die without this life-saving $40K treatment, sure I'd do anything to get that money. I'd rob 40,000 people of $1 each if I absolutely had to, I'd rob a damn bank if I had to. But if instead the situation was that without this $40K I would end up just living a normal life instead of a "better" life, no, I wouldn't go out and risk life and limb, or even beg for any amount of money from anyone else, just so I could give IM a shot.

Any newbies reading this want a more realistic perspective? Yeah, making money online is tough, and like it or not, one of the biggest barriers to making any money online is not having any money to start with. It DOES take money to make money. I joined this forum in 2014 and spent months just reading various journeys and methods. I didn't even make my first post until after I was a member for months out of fear of asking something stupid. I absorbed as much knowledge as I could but I never took action. Why? Not because I'm lazy, but because I literally couldn't afford the risk. I had to save for months before I was comfortable starting any method, and even then I was skeptical. Because I would keep thinking to myself "damn, I worked for so long to save this money, what if this method doesn't work?". That was my situation until the end of last year.

Fast forward now into 2015 and I'm making stable $xxx a day through a few different methods. And guess what, because of that I'm much more comfortable paying for tools and guides and services other items that make IM'ing easier. But I will STILL assert that it's extremely tough to make any money without having money to start with, and not having enough money to start is a perfectly valid and common reason to not being able to start any methods. Many people are faced with that problem. Me, personally, I'd never go out and beg for money - or even worse, do something illegal to get it - to start a project that has zero guarantees of success. I also wouldn't go and sell my valuable possessions in order to have the startup funds necessary. Again, I worked hard for my money, and it's through hard work that I bought the "latest iPhone" that he mentions. The reason that I'm into IM is os that I can make more money, have nicer things, and live a better life. So again, why would I go and sell the nice things that I have now, in order to make some money that I could invest into a project that could totally fail? Then I've moved backwards and lost the nice things that I worked for that I already do have!

You might be thinking "you'll never make any money online with that attitude". I invite you to re-read the opening statement of the previous paragraph.

Another note: it's super easy to sit on a high-chair when you're making tons of money online and look down on other people who aren't able to take the same risks as you are. It's easy to forget the situation you were in when you first started. It's also incredibly easy to end up right back into that position you started in - back at square one - and sometimes that can happen overnight. Always have a plan. Your first plan should be to start saving money that you are 100% comfortable losing. That's the trick. Save up at least $500 to $1000 and be 100% comfortable losing that money in an IM journey. You might not lose it, and that's great, but you likely will. What you spend that money on will be a learning experience. Then when you eventually start making money. Put aside at least 20% of your earnings for future projects, because you WILL need that money. No money making method lasts forever.

Hell yeah preach it brother! I totally agree. I have read alot of posts from members in which it seems they are talking down to others for this reason. I'm still trying to make my first $buck in IM. My story is, briefly, I was a restaurant co-owner for about 4 years after previously being a restaurant manager at a fast food chain for 11 years. I had to sell my half of the biz due to health problems in '10, and am now on disability. So my budget is limited. But I do what I can, and I've learned a shit ton in the last year. Not gonna give up tho, because govt benefits.... suck. Lol!

This is a similar train of thought and I think this one might be more acceptable to the people questioning the main post.

This guy sounds like a pyramid scammer. "Give me $49... if you're serious about making money." And then he compared $49 to buy his shitty service or start a blog to medical bills and being desperate for money for medical bills. He can gfh. What an idiot.

When I was 14 I made my first websites, and money I needed was 120-190$ for hosting, theme, plugins, etc..

I live in Third world country, Bosnia, where average daily job 6am-4pm is paid 10$ and I asked my mother 200$ for my 'dream'.

After 2 weeks she gave me that money, and I had some 80$ of my pocket money and I started.

In 2 years I made 40 Adsense niche sites and all of them was 100% succesfull.

So, 2 years ago when I was making really lot of money for this country, where I was 17-18 and I had like 1500$/month and my mates lived with their pocket money with parents, I offered them help.

I said, you don't need nothing, I will show you everything, I will give you my plugins, my themes and I will spend 2-3 hours everyday to help you to get out from hard money situation.

And I only said: You just need to buy hosting and domain, and that's like 40$ for one year.

And they was like: OK no problem, I buy that you help me and I make money, so I waited.

    You know what?

0/10 friend bought hosting, and you know how long I waited?

    2 years!!!

They smoke 2 packs of cigs per day, they go out on fridey, saturday and spend 20-50$.

    But no money for hosting.

    I stopped right there.

And in this video John explained this situation, from a-z.
