After thinking about this for a while, I just don't get it. It may be very obvious and I could be having one of these 'doh' moments. But why do CPA companies have these one field submits? E-mail submits, ZIP submits, etc. What do they gain from these kind of one field submits? I know they should be getting a targetted opt-in list with email adresses on email submits, but how about zip submits?

I know people are supposed to go through with it and fill in a whole load of personal information after they submit their mail/zip, but isn't the rate who doesn't do this pretty high even on legit targeted traffic? And affiliates are already payed after that submit. It just seems like obvious bait to catch cheaters with.

Hope someone can give me a little more insight on this.

why ask questions? Just keep raping the shit out of them and collect the checks :)

it's just a psychological thing. It's all about initiating the user to take action. More often that not a user will put in a email address if the offer is targeted to them. Once they are sent to the real form, the company can still bombard them with emails even if they don't complete the form, since they got the email addy on the previous page.

At least this is what I think.

Simple, Affiliates think E-Mails submits are easy money (you don't find too many zip submits anymore) but in reality E-Mails are about as personal as you can get. If you get someone to come to your site and submit an E-Mail there is a pretty damn good chance they won't mind filling out survey information the advertiser can sell off on the following pages and a 8-10 Field submit can pay anywhere around 12.00-22.00 per "Lead" (notice when they pay you more than $1.50 it's not a submit -It's a lead) and the advertiser has the added bonus of not paying if you submit crap - it's called "back out".

Email and Zip Submits are cool, but if you build a quality site you can just as easy make 10x the money with Lead Offers. IMO

I dont know about you guys but I have a page which I think looks very legitimate BUT the conversion is not good most of the time. Like today, I sent over 70 clicks from Google adwords but only 6 conversions? I mean its just a simple email submit, how can this really be? Also, there are days I'll get 40 out of 70 clicks so I think the network shave leads and sometimes you just can't tell.

That's like a 9% converision right? That's not to bad for an E-Mail submit.

That's what i was thinking. If you're getting cheap clicks and the offer is ok, that sounds rather tasty.

Hehe, Im trying! I guess it's a combination of a couple answers on this thread.

The advertiser is looking for something on the backend of the action. They want the user to fill out more shit for whatever reason they are using the information for(selling the lead to a relevant business, using it for their own product).

They offer pay for a zip/email action because it is very simple and a lot of affiliates will promote this because they believe they can convert on it. The thing is they are expecting targeted and un-incentivised traffic without blanked referrers so the emails and zips turn into a lot of information for them. But how can we be expected to give them that. ;)

im sure some sites sell the email lists as well to several companies to help make up for those that just fill out the email and nothing else.
