One Blog Many Categories or Many Blogs?

    if you want to build a big authority site to get a lot of traffic what do you guys think is better. One Blog Many Categories or Many Blogs? with one blog many categories you can cash in on a lot of organic traffic trough longtail keywords

    It depends on how much traffic you get.More traffic means more chances of earning.

    If all the topics are somewhat related then an large authority site would make more sense. However if the relationship is vague then different sites linked to each other might make more sense.

    Just make sure not to stretch yourself too thin and write 100 posts that you cannot promote. Don't get stuck in this "authority = more pages" stuff. Make a few pages, promote them and rank them, then go start a new batch of pages, promote those and rank them.

    Don't throw up 100 at a time, you seriously will never get "around" to promoting them all.

    If they are loosely related, I'd go with one blog and put things into categories. If you really promote that homepage, some juicey juice will flow to the others.

    Also, if you use a mag style theme or something and have a few more pages on the blog because you didn't separate it up, you have more of a chance of getting the user to click around and spend some more time on the site and get a good bounce rate.

    Just my opinion on it.

    I planning on blog about movies,style,health so it would be better to make a couple of blogs since there not closely related?
