once again about those baaacklinks...

While I was studying my competitors site on my niche I was checking the backlinks he has and I came across a site linking back to his site that has thousands of pages indexed and my competitor has a - probably paid link - on the front page of that site so that link is on every page that is indexed in search engine (btw, is the proper term for such link sitewide??)..

SO.. my question is: if I get a link back to my site from such a site (sitewide link??) that has thousands of pages indexed, is each one of those indexed pages counted as a backlink by search engine?
