Hey everyone, I just wanted to share this with you. I started my site Feb 26th after extensively reading BHW. I am averaging 2000 uniques a day with 10,000 page views and I am seeing an upward trend each week. Ranked shy of 125,000 in US Traffic according to Alexa. I can upload some screen shots, but I'm not selling anything, so you can take my word.

All of this has been completely white hat. I use Scrape Box for other blogs, but there is nothing black hat about this.

Before I tell you how I did this, I want to say I am not going to share my KW or my Niche. I know whenever someone starts a post like this there are 5 or 6 people who ask.

Also big thing is that my niche is super hot right now. Tons of attention. I believe that is the major part of this. In some cases I am ranked 2 for my keyword and ranked top 5 for longtails. I put up this site right before it got hot.

    So what did I do?
    1. KW in domain and it is a .com. I think that is by far the most important aspect. You have to have the KW. I also have a word after that KW. So if my niche was bikes it is bikepics.com. Get it?
    2. Stuffed a lot of keywords into my footer in Wordpress. Not like bike, motorbike, etc. But more like This bike is great for exercising, and bicycling around town. Buy this bicycle, and you will have a great bicycle to ride. Stuff like that.
    3. Plug ins:
    All in one SEO
    XML Sitemap
    4) Blog Comments - Everything is manual. I used Google News and found relevant articles to post my comments to. I only have roughly 120 backlinks and probably only 20% are ****************.
    5) Facebook - I check facebook daily and post links on fan pages.
    6) Update the blog with content. But here's the deal. 90% of my content is one sentence. The other 10% is content taken from news articles and I post a blurb and write read more at the article with a link. I believe its important that each Title has my KW and other variations of the long tail.
    7) OnlyWire with robo form. It really takes like 1/2 hour to sign up for each site.
    8) Digg linkbait type articles
    9) Reddit linkbait type articles

    What I don't do or haven't done:
    1) ZERO Article Marketing
    2) ZERO Squidoo Lenses
    3) ZERO PPC Campaigns
    4) ZERO MySpace marketing
    5) ZERO Outsourcing
    6) ZERO Blog Directories
    7) ZERO Blog Carnivals
    8) ZERO Link Wheels

Now the big question...how much am I making? Well, there are no ads on the site at all. I wanted to keep it clean and catchy in the beginning. I have now drafted a proposal to some of the companies in the industry who would benefit from my traffic.

Sorry if this pretty long, but I wanted to share and maybe debunk some myths that are floating around.

Unfortunately, my niche probably won't work that great with CB. I have other sites I use it with.

Also I want to add about the google news that I received a PM about.

I actually take the time to skim the article and make a relevant comment. Depending on the seriousness of the article I either leave a comment with my kw or even just put in a name like Jenny and then add my link at the end of the comment like, "By the way I found this website mysite.com that has interesting information." Just vary it and play with it.

does keywords in the footer really work? In all my sites that I have ever done I have never put keywords in the footer of the page.

Be willing to give it a try. I have a new site that I just put up that has a high KW count. right now I am on page 199

feed back is this something that should be done.

I am no expert by any means, but when I did a search for my KW and google came back with my keywords and had Powered by Wordpress next to it, I knew I must have done something right. I am updating all my blogs with KW's in footer and will update and see where it goes.

I would like to add my 2 cents to your question, does the above work, OH HECK YAH .... let me explain

using natural language links ( that's my way of saying ) is something the the search engines want. Also it provides an bit of a side reference IE: links structured opinions give the search engine a fuzzy nice feeling ( i don't know why, but I've tested it on 3000 domains, both on footers and on inbound ).

I can say this, NLL's will help you get into the top 10 of a keyword phrase and increase your overall keyword count ( google analytics confirms this )

I went to google news and looked at about 50 news articles on the topic of "golf". Very few of them allowed comments, and none anchored comments. How do you find articles you can comment on?

very nice information though! why dont you give adsense a try? you could rotate your banners and check the CPC price for your keywords beforehand. i'm sure such a hot niche as you told us will have high paying keywords.
does your site contain something like exclusive content? you could also try to lock some content via CPA offers with bh-codebreaker :)

Maybe I'm just getting lucky as the majority I can easily post a comment to. Also when I search Google News, I click "Blogs" on the sidebar and go through those first.

There's no special footprint or formula, I go through the first 2 pages. But after you do it for a few days, you know which ones allow a comment and which ones don't.

I actually just got accepted to a network. Let me clarify something though. While we throw around the word niche a lot here, mine isn't technically what everyone defines a niche as. You can't go to the store and buy my niche. It's really a hot topic that is getting a lot of attention. I won't say anymore, but I'm sure at least 80% of you have been there and some of you may have even been on my site.

Just gotta keep your eyes and ears open to anything. A lot of my successful niches also have come from things I have hated. For example, there is a certain young artist that I believe is a no talent ass clown, but I keep seeing him everywhere I go and his songs on the radio. Well, instead of hating on him, I'm profiting from his idiot fans selling apparel and adsense on my "fansite." So my biggest tip is to read things you normally wouldn't. Pick up a magazine and flip through the ads ( I think that was actually mentioned in a BHW thread) and it's a really good way to find things you would have never heard of.

Also, I recently found a great niche that I set up. I was looking for a certain product, but the google keyword tool came back with another product that has even a better price and less competition.

The best part is finding the niche, am I right?
