I was debating whether to take the time to share this since most people on here I'm sure won't really understand what I'm saying (no offense).

We spend a lot of time talking about off-site SEO with backlinks, as well as on-site SEO with keyword dispersion and density along with navigational structure. However, rarely is actually coding ever brought up as part of an internal SEO strategy.

To better understand what I'm talking about, let's open up the "source view" of a website. You can see a lot of code in there, along with the actual content. But guess what! Google bots actually read it all.

So a coding structure like <div class="mainwrapper">hello world</div> would be read by a bot as "mainwrapper hello world?.etc?"

BUT?.there's a better way. By classifying your DIV's better, it actually help's Google to place your site in it's appropriate category. The easier your site is to place, the more the bot's and Google will like you.

So you would change your DIV to something like <div class="seo-marketing-logo">hello world<div>

Now?let's expand upon that. You will want your keyword ratio to be roughly 2-3%. No more and preferably no less. You will want to use the beginning to be based on the page and then the last part to be based on your page's keywords.

EXAMPLE 1: <div class="about-seo-marketing-information">blah..blah..blah</div>
Where "about-seo" is the About page and "marketing-information" would maybe be the main content or info of the page.

EXAMPLE 2: <div class="about-seo-services-and-packages">blah..blah..blah</div>
Where "about-seo" is the About page and "services-and-packages" would maybe be the pricing info on that page or contact form.

The for another page, you would obviously change up the front part to maybe something like <div class="contact-seo-firm">blah..blah..blah</div>
Where "contact" would be the page and "seo-firm" would be your location or whatever.

Sorry if it's confusing. Let me know if you guys have any questions. Maybe I'll post a video tutorial if the need is there.

Op's points will be suitable for custom made html sites. There are many other points to consider like Header tags, keyword bolder points, subtitles with keyword rich lines are also helpful. Even adding image, you can optimize using alt keywords tags as well.

Keep the on page more wise to get ranking.

Yes i totally agree with you, to me seo is actually all about INTERNAL website optimization, and external backlinking is something else. Thanks for sharing, and totally repped up, will be using this extensively.

How would you use this in say a Wordpress blog situation where there may already be div tags created? I don't know HTML
so how easy is it to change div tags to something else in wordpress?

No it wouldn't. All your post is crass disinformation coming from somebody who obviously has no clue how Google works as a SE. No wonder newbies have such a hard time learning SEO when there are people like you presenting made up bullshit as a fact. Maybe next time you want to offer a piece of information you might want to bother to actually make sure it works first.

This is so dumb I can't believe I've just read that. I must read it again so this time I actually laugh because atm I am like...

Crap information in this post. Google doesn't work like this and algorithms are much more complicated. Please don't share bad infos like these in BHW.

You obviously wont rank with this method alone, but it can give you a slight boost. I think OP knows what hes talking about lol

It is better to concentrate on on-page optimization elements, these elements are:

keyword density
title tag optimization
meta tags
categories
tag
bold/italic
heading
unique content
image optimization etc.

Of all the on-page SEO factors I have ever heard about, this isn't one.

I know on-page better than most people I have met, and do on page optimization for $75 a page. (yes, people actually pay me that, even some on the forum have been my customers), and I have never even heard of that

It may have some impact, but the effort you put into modifying an existing website would be better spent searching for two PR5 backlinks.

You are assuming that those PR5 backlinks are actually going to rank you. As more and more time goes on, On-page SEO and social signals are more fruitful then actual backlinks. I actually thinks it's pretty amusing that people spend so much time on backlinks rather then product/brand awareness. Backlinks give a small percentage of hope to one-day ranking and getting traffic. Awareness creates retention and social impact which builds it's own traffic for you - not to mention rankings.

Create awareness + on-page seo = traffic, social impact, and rankings

P.S. I am paid $100 per hour for consulting ;) Actual work is extra. So whatever you think you make, there's a golden rul to just keep it to yourself. :)

This sounds like bad coding practice to me. You seem to be misunderstanding the idea of a class.

If you have a divs that need the same style applied multiple times, use the same class. If you have a unique class, that should be an id.

I could not imagine this affecting rankings whatsoever.

Please prove me wrong though if possible.

Even uber spammed PR5 pages help a lot through a link.

As more and more time goes on, On-page SEO and social signals are more fruitful then actual backlinks.

Facepalm!

I actually thinks it's pretty amusing that people spend so much time on backlinks rather then product/brand awareness.

Branding if done right indirectly brings links because people talk about you and link to you. Also, I'll give u a medium competition keyword and if you rank it without links, just with on-page SEO I bow my head to you.

Backlinks give a small percentage of hope to one-day ranking and getting traffic. Awareness creates retention and social impact which builds it's own traffic for you - not to mention rankings.

While I agree social exposure helps a business (not all businesses, blackhat sites end up killed if people talk about them), links don't give a small percentage of hope. Links rank you. Give me the shittiest site and 1000 awesome links and it will rank. Give me the most awesome site and no links or shitty links and you won't rank anywhere.

P.S. I am paid $100 per hour for consulting ;) Actual work is extra. So whatever you think you make, there's a golden rul to just keep it to yourself. :)

If "consulting" is a synonym of "bullshiting" and pulling stuff out of your ass... ok... I can offer consulting on weight loss and tell people to comb the hair on their belly every morning because it makes them loose weight. Might even find clients. That doesn't mean it's true or that it works.

I have no idea about coding, but if this is a bad coding practice...it may work for now but it will be slapped eventually.

I already stated my opinion on this technique. For whoever wants a very in-depth guide on on-site optimization here's one that I wrote specifically targeted at WordPress (but can be adapted to anything):

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-search-engine-optimization-optimization.html

Even applying my guide completely on a site you still won't rank anywhere without backlinks. So keep that in mind and remember SEO is not just about on-page or just about backlinks but about everything. It is a symphony and every "instrument" in it must produce the right "sound" for the music to be enjoyable.
