OK Its been said enough... Here are some real questions, that I want answered and we should all be asking. And some facts.

    1. Google didnt all of a sudden get a loss in traffic, their traffic still appears to be the same..
    2. Over the past few weeks ive seen dozens of posts about people getting screwed, but if point #1 holds true WHERE IS THE TRAFFIC GOING?
    3. Has anyone had a traffic increase? We all practice our own tactics and strategies. Surely SOMEONE here must have had increases..
    4. Adding to point #3 not EVERYONE can be sooo badly hurt and with the obvious dramatic numbers that are being thrown around then there has to be some one out there thats doing just the opposite.
    5. In your niche have you seen a competitor that you used to laugh at pass you? share the info lets try and gather what we can to figure out whats going on and get back to our roots.
    6. In this ever changing era where a multi million dollar site is here today and gone the next us BHers pride ourselves on finding the new way around it.

Ok so my 1 - 6 ended up being a brain explosion but I think that you all generally get at what im trying to say. So lets do this thing.. Here is my recent experience.

I used to get sites indexed in about 1 hr.. Well i just bought 2 domains and after reading all this scary G stuff i tried a safer but still effective approach and behold still not indexed after 5 days.. I did HIGH pr in links and less then 200 pinged them and my site, RSS feed submissions to quality RSS. and a few hundred bookmarks. I also pushed about 250 Stat sites.. Normally i do about 3000 but with whats going on with G I was picky. I have NEVER experienced a site not being indexed for myself after 1 day let alone 5.... oh and yes meta, robots and onsite seo is done.

Heaps of people had an upswing on some of their sites after Farmer, myself included. However people tend to be much more vocal when they lose traffic rather than gain it.

You don't mention what kind of content you have. Original content is where it's at these days, the days of doing straight scrapes from RSS feeds and article directories are coming to a close. Also I would say that hundreds of backlinks to a five day old domain is getting pretty unnatural. Only a tiny proportion of viral domains would pick up links that fast.

@Autumn, Oh absolutely I agree, I guess the main part of what i was looking for in this post was what can we start pinpointing as the exact reasons why sites are being affected. my content is all hand written, even the research is barely done from the web. I always knew dup content would be an issue. But it seems to go further as with this new domain. Ive never had an issue getting a site indexed and running with 10,000 links the first day. But this time around Ive only after adding up the exact numbers sent just about 100 per day AND did not ping them so they are not indexing yet they are growing slowly and naturally.

I started a site on a highly searched volume keyword back on September 2nd 2010 and after 3-4 months I got number #2 position and being there for like 2-3 consecutive weeks

My word of advice, niches such as insurance, finance, health and so on have tons of competition and from my research I've come into conclusion that Google's algorithm differs a lot based on niches we are targeting so you better stick on small niches with exact search volume of less than 5k per month with no more than 2 million of competitors

Another site I launched on February for a keyword getting 27k exact searches per month is already ranking on second page without even doing anything, just because it has the exact keyword in the domain

I'm not doing any fancy stuff, just mixing up backlinks and not leaving footprints. I've seen varios of people in this forum who blast tens of thousand of auto-approve blogs and then nothing, mix those with profile backlinks, articles on various article directories and even guest posts on similar niches (include a link on your own page)

Of all the sites I closely monitor using Rank Tracker I'm seeing a small increase in rankings and traffic. Not huge maybe 5-10% but noticable.

I'm also not having any problems getting sites indexed not even my new ones it's exactly the same as it was before.

Most of my sites are WH but even my Auto Blogs are doing OK although I do mix in unique content with the scraped posts.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
