I started using Tweetadder months ago with an older accoount. I am very pleased, but interested in knowing whether I'm using it to its full potential. I only use the account for mass following/unfollowing. I'm not big on spam messages. I am following ~250 a day and unfollowing people that don't follow back after 3 days. Is 250 being too conservative given my stats?

    Founded: March 2009
    Followers: 5,000
    Following: 4,500

I'm gaining about 30-50 new followers a day, but I'd be more than happy to gain a whole lot more.

Wow. Compared to you guys I wasn't even using the software! I just wanted to be sure since I've read several times that Twitter is cracking down. I guess having a more established account is what really make the difference.

With an account that aged you should be good to go to the 1000 limit each day as long as its spread out "properly". Certainly 750 if you wanted to be safer though.

Weird, as Twitter physically doesnt let you go over adding 1000 people a day, so how'd you manage this?

That 1,000 limit is pretty loose. I've gotten up to 1200 or so on some days. On one of my accounts I have 11k followers and following 9k. You're really only limited by how many your current follower/following ratio. Safely, I wouldn't go over 750-800, but 1,000 occassionally doesn't seem to be an issue.

With such mass following and then unfollowing how targeted is your follower list to the Tweets that you send out?

Everyone is SO hooked on big numbers when it comes to Twitter as if it actually matters in some way. I would rather have 100 targeted followers who are interested in my Tweets and who are very likely to RT what I say.

Ooh, did you see that word there....RT!!! <-- yeah that word.

See, here's the thing that everyone seems to have missed when it comes to Twitter. You DON'T need 10,000's or 100,000's of followers. What you DO need is targeted followers who are real people and who will respond to your Tweets.

Numbers: I have 100 targeted followers who all have 2,500 followers each. I Tweet some really cool stuff which causes my measly low number of 100 followers to RT it to their followers. Suddenly my one single Tweet could now potentially reach 250,000 people. I think it's called leverage. Even more so when a percentage of those 250,000 people begin to RT it to their followers.

Moral of the story: Tweet cool shit to genuine, targeted, followers and allow them to do the heavy lifting for you simply by them RT'ing your cool shit.

You'll save yourself hours and hours of following and unfollowing random people in a bid to get some to follow you back and you also get much better results.

Reach REAL people because real people buy stuff - bots will never buy a single thing!!

    RT isn't a word, it's an acronym.

You should get about 20,000 fake followers off fiverr, And then you may follow allot more people daily as your Follow limit gets increased when you have more followers.

Thank you for the English lesson, I shall try my hardest to remember that as I offer help to others on here. I hope that everyone is able to forgive me for my terrible mistake.

Returning to this old post. Thanks to the input here I've surged from the 5k at the time of my OP to near 11k. Fwiw, I am still targeting groups within my niche so I feel those gains are relevant.

I do have one question. For those again with older accounts, do you all run Tweetadder 24/7, or still shut it down 6-8 hours a day to make it look "real"?
