Alright so I bought my domain from GoDaddy, but bought hosting from hostwinds. Ive built a couple sites before but used Godaddy's shitty site builder, so now I am trying to build a legit one using wordpress and all that good stuff. Where do I start building my site from? Like what links do I need to be clicking on in order to get to where I need to, to set up wordpress and all that? What is it that I am looking for in order to open my site and start building? This is probably basic stuff to some of you guys haha so sorry for the noob question.

Godaddy won't be bugging you but every year to renew your.com. But! in Godad you need to point nameservers to hostwinds.

Hostwinds should have sent all you login stuff.
Mainly you need a panel (most use cPanel)

Hostwinds may point the servers for you but I'd just search "nameservers to hostwinds" and search "change godaddy nameservers"

or go here and here

In cPanel towards the bottom there is an icon called fantastico? or something similar to install WP

Ok yea I just found cpanel and changed the nameservers and all. Pretty easy fix I guess I just wasnt looking hard enough lol they included what nameservers I needed to change to in the email they sent. Now that I found cpanel hopefully I will be able to get it from here. Thanks man!

You can still contact support and ask them nicely to install it for you, I'm sure they are willing to help.

go to fiver and pay some guy $5 to do it for you

On taking a brief look hostwinds offer "softaculous" which is an auto install software for wordpress, and many other scripts, assuming your host / their support will not create it for you. Simply login to the control panel and fin Softaculous, then select wordpress, enter appropriate details and click install. You should have a basic site up and running in minutes.
