An expired domain that have little or no link pointing to homepage, but rather to post pages, is it considered okay?

Yes, if the link profile is good in terms of quality and quantity.
The history is clean.
And it has not been in dropped state for a long period.

Okay because I was thinking since there's no backlink to homepage and the backlink pages are already deleted, won't I loose the backlink since the page no longer exist?

the backlink pages are already deleted
Wait if that's the case then how does the backlink even count?
If those pages are deleted that just means no backlinks so it's not worth.

I was thinking the same because is only a matter of time when the domain get crawled and all deleted pages having backlinks will get removed and backlogged will reduce am I right?

I experienced a drop of backlinks on an expired domain I bought months ago, after getting this domain indexed I began to loose backlinks, I guess those backlinks are being pointed to the post pages and not homepage

My personal opinion if you really want a good or at least a decent quality expired domain to benefit for any SEO use case find a trusted vendor who sells them.
We are in 2023 and it's really a tough job to find a quality expired domain on your own.

Just take note of the pages that have links to them, and recreate those pages. You own, and control, the site, right? Make new pages with the same URLs as the linked-to pages.

U said I should recreate the pages, how about I recreate the page and redirect them to either my homepage or to another post page

Or I just redirect the 404 page ?

There's NO links to the homepage?

What most do is just recreate the site URL structure so that backlinks are pointing somewhere.

You should keep overall link profile in mind while buying. If other pages have got gold links, you can still buy the domain. Also, the asking price has to be kept in mind relative to power of domain.

There is no definitive answer to whether an expired domain with little or no link pointing to the homepage is okay or not. It depends on how you plan to use it, and what kind of links are pointing to the post pages. You need to do your own research and analysis before deciding to buy an expired domain for link building.
