I was looking to buy a new Laptop as I'm currently using a piece of shit that I can't even run photoshop on. So I went on CL to find me a nice Laptop and found this site:

    electro-depo.com

Found an amazing deal! $900 for a Core 2 Quad processor HP, sure the website was registered 05/25/09, sure they only accept paypal as payment, and they don't have the money to pay for a phone #, but it's cheap! So I took a chance. Now after paying and 3 emails and phone call to the phone # they listed on their Paypal account. No reply. I escalated to a claim on Paypal so hopefully I can get my money back. Anybody know of things I can do to make sure I get my money back?

I paid for it on 05/31 and filed a claim today 06/07. I used a credit card to send payment to paypal (because I figure that if paypal screws me, I can get my credit card company to screw paypal).

I found this ad on CL, so if you guys are looking for cheap electronics....beware:

I would have filed an unauthorized transaction with Paypal and said that your account had been hacked because 99.9% of the time you will win the claim. But if you used a credit card for the transaction you should still be able to get your money back.

If your credit card company reverses. Does the negative stay in your balance or does it travel all the way through to the seller?

On another note the domain is registered under a cell phone number which is under the name: Deluxe Laboratories. Kinda weird.

    Have you tried calling it?

And the address on the whois links back to a company called Creative Packaging.

PayPal should give you a refund, the website is obviously not legit, I saw a 32gb ipod touch on there for $135 (retail $400)
You should try to get someone on the phone from paypal and make sure the website's paypal accounts get shut down..

I guess if it comes to this. I would have to disconnect my bank account and ask my credit card company to reverse. I assume I would have a negative balance.

Have you tried calling the phone number for Creative Packaging?

The domain info lists a very similar name for the Whitepages listing.

I've gotten another phone number for Creative Packaging. I'll pm it to you.

I got the name and address from reversing info on the domain at whitepages.com and using domain info from Who.is.

Maybe email them and mention that you are turning this case over to the Office of the Attorney General of California for felony prosecution for Grand Theft, Fraud and a few other things unless you get you $$ back within 72 hours. Bet that will wake them up.

Ok so how to I report this to their domain registrar or host so they get taken down? I don't want anybody else taken in by these people.

They're registered with: COMPUTER SERVICES LANGENBACH GMBH DBA JOKER.COM
    Host: NS1.ZEOHOST.COM
