    This message seems to pop up about once a day from a different (dumbass) friend. I figure someone here is behind this. I also don't understand how this method could possibly work. I just can't see some random person actually believing the message and going through with a purchase...

    Yeah. i am also getting messages from unknown persons.. dont know how they spam it...no one is going to buy that product...

    Just use www.pidgin.im (PIDGIN) It supports allmost all messengers in one tiny application and is open source aka. Free.

    It easy has encryption plugins google (pidgin encryption plugin) to get it. Perfect for when you don't want talk privately. ;)

    [side] If you guys are getting SPAM message just check the setting to turn off the ability for non-buddies to contact you. That should solve the problem.

    I actually already use pidgin. The spam messages I'm receiving are actually from friends in my list who computers have been compromised by a virus.

    I think it's got to be more than one person. It must have taken a real bunch of pros to pull something like this off........

    I posted about a link similar. What they do is steal your CC information and God knows what they do afterwards lol.
