So I need some help from you guys who are more knowledgeable about SEO. I'm trying to compete against another company and this isn't like doctors or plumbers or anything that's hands on really so their isn't too much competition. The question here though is how would you dominate for every single keyword that sire has to the point when you search that keyword you will come out first. Also you will be displayed first on google maps. Usually how long does this take. Do you guys have any recommendations?

    Mastercl,

One thing that stands out about your question is you asking about ranking for every single keyword phrase that your site has on it. With SEO, it is very difficult if not impossible to be everything to everyone. Google ranks pages using a very narrow view. In general each page should be optimized for a specific keyword term. Trying to rank for every keyword you could possible insert into your website (if this is what you mean with your question) would really get you nowhere. Pick out keywords that you want to rank for based on what you are selling. Don't stray too far from that (i.e. trying to rank for "local restaurants" when you are a grocer). Keep your focus targeted and you will be far more successful at attracting people that actually want to buy what you are selling.

Here is a good source if you are just starting out with SEO,

Hope that helps you and best of luck,

    Shawn

How is "specialty foods" exactly hard to have content? Not only do you have loads of products, but also their uses, history and whatnot. Not exactly that useful, but works for SEO.

Hey Shawn thanks for the reply. I guess I could've worded my question differently. I know I can't put pickles and expect google to rank me #1 for that and thats not what I'm trying to do. What I meant was theirs a few of my competitors lets say and they have pickles dallas tx italian grocery. Their isn't too many searchs and neither is their really competition but what I'm saying is how hard would it be to replace my competition if that was the case and replace their google maps and put mine instead.

    Hope that makes some sense.

    Tony

I agree dont try to optimize all of the keywords id you are trying to do that because you wont be able to get what you wish for. plus is not a difficulty, not a single person in internet marketing is worried about content these days. You can even find a number of content writers on BHW.
