I was just reading another post on here and it made me do a quick brainstorm of ideas for offline marketing.

Props go out to deemos for the post @ http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/166563-how-i-made-money.html

Offline methods of advertising are nothing new but I don't see them used atleast in my neck of the woods.

I live by one of the largest malls in Maryland (Arundel Mills) and I see looks of Kiosks for different products such as Karate movies, cell phone accessories, Bathroom remodeling, etc but nothing for any of the niches that you see online.

Yesterday I posted about advertising in magazines but what if you could get users to fill out offers right there or when they get home.

For this to work it would have to be a high traffic area such as a mall on a Friday or Saturday night. It would have to be directed towards the younger crowd as I feel they would most likely fill the informaion out in return for a chance to win a cash, or a video game console, or a gift card, cell phone, whatever.

Option 1:
Setup a kiosk with a computer and internet access with your gateway where you have your CPA Offers. Let them choose the offer they want to complete (one page email submits or quick surveys). If you're CPA network shows live stats they you'll know if the offer converted. Have them fill out a form with there name, email address, and shipping address after they fill the offer/survey out (maybe you can build a list off it later).

This could work at the movies, mall, after school functions, etc.

Option 2:
Have flyers that you can hand out to passing people (again younger crowd) where they have a chance to win a prom dress, or tuxedo rental, iPod, again whatever works best. They would fill out the offer when they get home.

Now option #1 is more expensive but I feel you would get more conversions. How much would it be to buy and setup a kiosk.

Here is another idea, Setup some kiosk that users can use for free. For them to be able to start their session they have to fill out a survey or do some task that would earn you money. After completion they get 5-10 minutes of use before they have to do another offer or task.

Hey I live in MD too and could use your advice for something big. Can you PM me...

I like the idea of setting up a kiosk at the mall but you have to find out how much it costs to rent a kiosk. I know where I am, the kiosk rent is dependent upon your type of business. So a kiosk celling cell phone accessories might pay less than a kiosk selling watches.

Also, you need to find out daily traffic at the mall and find a way to test this out first before dishing out $1000 or more for a kiosk per month. As for CPA offers, you would have to talk to your AM about all leads coming from the same IP Address.

If a Kiosk costs you $1000/month and each email submit gets you a $1, you would have to get 33 people a day to break even.

Instead of getting a kiosk yourself, why don't you do a JV with a current kiosk owner? This way you will get an idea if the process works. You could put up a little banner or a stand alone sign next to his kiosk to get peoples attention. Do it for a month or two and you will see if this works.

Have you heard of Trial Pay? Say a kiosk owner is seling a cheap product ($5-$10), they can offer their product for free if they complete an offer on Trial Pay (offers include netflix, blockbusters, credit cards, etc). I think netflix trial pays you $18 and you could split the profits with him.

Hope this helps a little.

I did this with an acai product about a year ago, and it worked very well. I don't know about the zip submits, go for the larger payouts. Get a couple of good looking girls to sell people on whatever you decide, and have them fill out the offers.

Make sure to let your AM know, because all the signups will be from the same ip, but mine had no problem with that. Made almost 2 grand in one day.

I actually checked with a AM for a network I used to push traffic to. They did not mind as long as the signup info was different (persons name, email address, phone, home address).

I have printed flyers for my local area with tear-offs. You know how you see flyers that say, car for sale, and the tearoff have the phone #. Same idea, just put the domain name on the tearoffs.

1) make sure you call around to you local print shops to have this done. It is FAR too expensive to print them yourself.

2) Go on ebay and buy a couple reams of bright paper. I like orange and pink, but you get the idea.

3) Take the paper to your printer.

4) Use a paper cutter to slice the tearoffs, you can cut 5-10 sheets at a time.

5) Get some excercise and post them on soda machines, pay phones, grocery stores, laundry mats, etc...

6) Go home and watch the click roll in...

You will need to put out at least 100 flyers a day, and it will take a few days till you really start seeing the money, but this does work.

ps- Make sure you have at least 8-10 tear-offs on each flyer, and put the domain name on the flyer itself really big and bold, so if all the tearoffs are taken, people can still jot it down if they are really interested!

You can use this method to promote virtually anything, just try to keep you domain names as short and simple as possible

That is a great success story samspam. There are so many offers available and I am sure we could find a few that would work well. Instead of a kiosk, do a JV with a store (fitness store and acai offer or some weight loss offer).

You are right about going for the larger payouts as that makes sense. You know, I have seen Proactiv stalls at the mall here and I wonder if they are doing the same thing. They might just be direct reps from the company though.

The flyer idea would work well too but requires work on your part like running around and the exercise alone should be worth it!

I think promoting CPA offers offline is not a bad idea if planned out well.

I guess it would have to be a high volume of people for it to work.

The flyer idea is not bad. I have teen girls and could pay them to hand them but I'm not sure where. They could not do it in the mall as they would be booted out.

If you need a spot cheaper than local check out print.stealthpromo.com I check my pricing against 4 chicago printers :)
