I know the offline niche is super hot right now. But I think one of the main problems that consultants may have is actually providing live examples of websites and services.

So I'm wondering if any BHW members would be willing to have their websites used by those starting their offline business or even some members providing some sort of testimonial. I for one would be willing to offer compensation for a member helping me out with that (like $100 if it helps me get a client), but if no one is willing to do it... it's kind of moot.

    Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

Not sure how you are marketing you're services, but if you can stick with good straight to the point themes then you should be okay.. Just have to explain to them that their some of the best performing themes that you came across during you're years in the business..

What type of services are you offering? I bet 3/4 of the people don't even make templates here btw..

I'm not really having any issues with promoting my services. It's all part of the sales process and I'm an old pro with that stuff. I just know that every little thing I can add to my ************** will help at some stage. I also know that this particular problem seems to be prevalent as far as the offline consulting biz goes. I just thought if we could all help each other it ends up being mutually beneficial for everyone :)

Not sure its an issue. It never has been an issue for me. I have clients i could refer them to but no one has ever asked and i wouldn't anyway. I just say my clients information is confidential and theirs will be also when we do business.

Sounds interest. PM me and tell me more.

Most of my consulting both with marketing and websites is offline. Been at it for more than 25 years. If it will help others, I'm interested.

You're absolutely correct this can be an obstacle. However, I believe the obstacle is mostly in the minds of those who are afraid of approaching businesses in the first place. They falsely believe they need validation and that the business owner is going to demand it.

I believe it's a state of mind. As long as you don't let it become an issue it's not an issue. The minute you make it an issue then it's an issue.

I let my clients know that I am creating a custom solution for them. I take the time to discover their expectations, who their market niche is, what solutions they're offering and the price range they want to sell at. Armed with this information we'll create a website or video for them.

I make them feel unique and special. I let them know that I'm not going to use a "one-size-fits-all-cookie-cutter" approach. Their website is going to look unique and will be designed to achieve the results they expect.

By taking this personal approach my clients rarely, if ever, ask for samples of my work. They assume because I know what questions to ask then I have the experience and knowledge to solve the problems they have. Again, it's a mindset.

When working with new licensees of our video production company I provide them with an Intake Form to help them over come the fear of being asked questions they don't know about producing a video. The person asking the questions is the one in control. The Intake Form provides them with the questions to ask the client. By the end of the interview the business owner rarely has any additional questions. They never know that the new licensee couldn't answer questions regarding the production of their video.

I believe your suggestion is a good one. Especially if the more experienced ones will take the newbie under their wing and help and guide them. Some business owners may want or expect websites at level above the newbie and this is where the newbie can refer the work to the experienced developer and split the fees.

I would be interested in getting more info offline marketing. If you want a free website and all you need to do is upload. GO to the download section and find Make 10K in a weekend and download that. It is an awesome way to make money by selling workshops to business owners and it gives you everything you need to start your consulting business.
