Offline Advertising- Newspapers/ Freebie & Clippers

So,
I'm promoting some CPA offers right now, and decided to give a call to a few places that run ads in magazines/ coupon clippers/ local newspapers...

Here's the stats:
30,000 distribution- $175.00 (black/white, inside paper)
360,000 distribution- $1,800.00 (black/ white, inside paper)
1,140,000 distribution- $5,000.00 (black/ white, inside paper)

30,000 distribution- $400.00 (front page/half page)

Now, have any of you guys had any luck with Newspaper advertising?
These are the prices for the local little newspapers right around the area... and i'm contemplating if I should shell out a lotta cash, if i'm gonna see return?!...

Do you guys think i'd get a return on investment? on weight loss products? on MMO ??...

Should I try more free advertising first? or just FUCK IT, .... and pay for it??
OR... would you guys pay for PPC ???...

any and all advice is appreciated

last time i used paid ads i got calls from a lot of idiots who did not understand my ad.

I don't wanna waste my money if it's not gonna work out

run free ads in publications like "penny saver" or "thrifty nickel".
if they work out, then try paid ads.

Perhaps use the cheapest option as a trial run? $175 isn't a great ammount to loose.

It's not too bad..... but then again, I don't know how well this'll convert?!?!

you wont know until you try!

if it works you wont care - if doesnt work its only $175... better than $1800 or more...

i think this time of year is good for weight loss... especially put emphasis on getting ready for the summer and even spring break...

Yeah all the new years resolutions niche should be kickin off real nice. Maybe some weightloss or hypnosis quit smoking,lol .

I'd try the $175 too with site for free trial just pay shipping. Throw some nice testimonials on the page to, you know some b.s. of how great it's working and how soon they'll be raising the price for those who don't lock it in now.

Hey man, you should definitely hit up the Pennysaver. I know there is one in my whole state, and in just my city, it is delivered to over 24,000 homes.

It only cost $20 for a basic ad, but if you want things like a Border then it cost more.

If you want a 1/4 page ad, then it only cost $50.

I've been doing this now for the past couple months, and it's bringing in a nice $400 - $500 a week, from one Ad, from one City.

I'd definitely hit up the Pennysaver if I was you...

in my area, i get a column inch ad inside a newspaper that has an audience of over 150,000 for $25.

I advertised for a free gift card and only 30 peopple visited in the 3 days the ad was printed.

I think i did something wrong because the uniques should be way more than 30.


The prices you wrote here are way too expensive. is it bcause they include a picture??

I've tried this with many newspapers and such, I never got a return in my investment, I don't know why people who read offline ads are so skeptical.

nationwideadvertising dot com is a good classified ads broker. I've had pretty good results with them. You have to know a little more than the average schmoe about writing good copy, though.

w/ regards to pennysaver, I tried this when I was in the loan biz but didn't work (target market) I have no doubt that advertising something that's free CPA related, personal loans or home biz would yield a positive roi

Also, a great offline tactic is to post flyers at schools and on busy street lights

Print ads take a while to sink in. You need to run a consistant campaign of at least 3 months to start seeing results. If ur gonna run an ad a week here and a there dont bother and save ur money.

People who offline dont have the same instant gratification needs that onliners have... and are more cautious, it takes time for them to trust you and that happens by seeing ur add over time. Plan it well and u will be golden.
