Network of adsense blogs .com or .info. Does it really matter?
i prefer .com cause .info looks spammy.
There is no difference.
"Official Thread" and you are worried about what looks "spammy"?
Jesus Christ on a raft!
I have some high ranking .info's and one is #1 in google for nearly every term in it's niche so I don't think it matters.
I still believe in .com
Now, I think it all boils down to personal preference
In my experience I'd say there can definitely be difference but it depends what you are doing. Yes a high quality site on .info can do just as well as a .com BUT where spammy sites are concerned .com (along with .org .net etc) tends to last longer and rank better than .info.
Yes well this will have to do with blogs adsense that i will be greyhat so to speak. Not really to spammy
Why not do a mixture of the 2? Then you will know for sure what works best (or if there's no difference) for your sites.
I use .com but have used .info in the bast for BANS sites...they were all deindexed in 2 months. while my wpauction sites on .infos were perfectly fine...
I don't think there is a difference between those two in SEO aspect. Even Matt Cutts said that once. But .com is probably better in Internet Marketing. You'll probably have more respect from potencial buyers when you use .com
Yes we all know that .com are far better if your doing sales or ecommerce.
I was just wondering the difference from a SEO standpoint.
Because I rather buy a bunch of .infos for blogs then .com and save money especially if there isnt no difference.
SEO - It doesn't matter.
But that being said, you may rank high in the SERPS, but people like myself skip over .infos because I know they are 90% SPAM. But for the price, I would go .info if I was you.
Google are more aware of .info domains now for BANS-like sites, even to the point of deindexing them. Point being, .info is popular due to its low-cost firstyear, and is being used by white/blackhats alike to do their money making bidding. Google is now denouncing .info and you won't be able to get high PR that way.
Stick with .com I guess.
(However, just "no" is too short of a post here.)
.info does just as well if you're getting traffic from the SE's
if you're trying to brand, .com wins
I have had no success with .info names. They get indexed and then dropped to never return. It could be the age of the site. With .com I'm indexed and don't get dropped.
I don't think there's a simple answer.
With Yahoo I think it doesn't matter.
With Google I think they have like a points system.
A com gets more points than an info
backlinks give you points
age gives you points
content mix gives you points
keywords in the domain name give you points
keywords in the rest of the url give you points
building pages too fast looses you points
building links too fast looses you points
too many links on a page looses you points
many links with the same anchor text looses you points
links from bad neighbourhoods looses you points
If your score is low you get reviewed and may be banned.
If your score is high you get indexed more deeply.
all things being equal it's better to have a com than an info, but things aren't equal, infos are cheap, more decent info names are available....
but if you're fairly sure you're going to keep the domain for more than one year and the com you want is available then take it, generally you can reg a com for two years for the same total price as an info (infos are only cheap for the first year)
I don't think Noobs should be able to talk. This is wrong on so many levels. All BANS sites are treated like this, not just .infos. Google only looks at the extension when it has to do with a certain country, like .us is not indexed on google.co.uk (or if they are, not as many sites - I did a few tests and .us that came up in the usa where not in the uk).
Separate names with a comma.
