    Hello,

    Today one of my sites received 1400 visits and increasing according to GA from a website that is showing me a "500 internal server error".

    I find this very odd because my ads ctr and time on site from visits is normal like other days, it seems like genuine traffic but the site sending the traffic was down all the time?

    Nobody sends traffic for free, should I be concerned as this could be a strategy to kill my account or site?

    Thx in advance!!

    Anyone help please? Found out that main page www.site.com is down but there is a page www.site.com/hhvk/ that is referring all the traffic, if I type www.site.com/hhvk/ I m redirected to my website but the url still remains of that webiste. Can't figure out whats going, still the traffic sent by that page is making likes and spending time on site like is genuine traffic.

    It is like If I go to www.oddreferringsite.com/hkvvr/ shows my homepage, It's like I'm in my website but it has the url of that other site, and Google analytics shows that site has sent mine almost 2k visitors yesterday!

    That sounds like an iFrame to me, but why I have no idea unless they are trying to set it to look like you are buying traffic.

    Have you made any enemies? It's possible there are blackhat techniques being used AGAINST you to get you in trouble by one of your competitors.

    Occasionally there are ways to alter your traffic so that it appears a site is sending you traffic in an attempt to get you to visit that site when you see it in your analytics, too. I was under the impression that it was an outdated practice, though.

    I have no enemies that I know off, I have the site for 4 years never had any problem! But the thing is my adsense earnings has rise, traffic is from same country my site is, they surf the site, spend time on it, they make likes look very genuine! If they wanted me to visit their page, I already did but it shows a ""500 internal server error", and I found the specific page in GA is a inner page like www.oddreferringsite.com/hkvvr/ and when I type it shows my site. Don't know what to do.

    Thank you all very much for your time. I will follows your suggestions and I will try to learn how to block the site, because as much as i like the increased earnings I take it nobody sends free traffic to anyone with good intentions!

    Once again thanks alot.

    Added the rule to block the site but I can still see traffic coming from the site in GA real time. It's strange because when I type the url I go to my website but the url in my toolbar doesnt change and still remains with the referring website url. Like if you type oddreferingsite.com you would be brought to here but instead of seeing blackhatworld.com in the broswer toolbar you would still see oddreferingsite.com and if you click any given link within the site you go to the page but the url in toolbar remains the same oddreferingsite.com instead of showing your site inner pages url. Don't know if i m making things very clear so you guys can understand :(

    What you are describing is an iframe, just like a youtube imbed.

    You stay on the site but the video streams into that page from you tube

    Yes it seems that indeed like my site is embebed in their site and I now found this if it can help to solve this:

    If I try to access other pages of their site the homepage shows an 500 internal server but very odd one like it is just hand writed and not a real internal server errorr message.

    And if i type any other url that doesnt existe within their webiste it says this:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function getDirectory() on a non-object in /var/www/APL/src/APM/MainBundle/Controller/DefaultController.php on line 103

    Its called a custom error page, standard web practice. The other pages don't exist.

    Thx my friends I made it!!!! It was an iframe so .htaccess couldn't block it.

    Here is the solution if this ever happens to you, simple javascript will block your site from beeing loaded in iframe:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    if(top.location != window.location) {
        window.location = "http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=oHg5SJYRHA0";
    }
    </script>
    Now everytime your page is loaded in an inframe will load that Rick youtube video :)

    If you want to block it from loading in an iframe only in one specific site:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
        if(document.referrer.indexOf("offendingdomain.com") != -1) {
            window.location = "http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=oHg5SJYRHA0";
        }
    </script>
