ocr other languages

not sure which forum to post this in ..

does anyone know if this is possible: i need to perform OCR on pdfs and images,
except its in russian. all funny looking russian symbols and characters. i need to translate this to english, but cant copy and paste it into a translator because it is not stored as text, its all russian characters.

or is there another way besides ocr. im not too familiar how to work with other languages.
