Talking from my own experience - it's better to have 2 clients paying you $10k/month than 40 clients paying you $1k/month. The biggest thing I learned when doing business is saying "no" to 98% of opportunities.

And I'm not advocating here for ripping people off - the dude dropped $46k on a bad redesign. I'm pointing out that the dude dropped $46k on something that wasn't necessary at all. And it didn't make a dent in his wallet.

my experince better to have 10 clients of $1000 than 1 client of $10k

Yeah, I feel for the guy who doesn't even make $46k/year and sees this guy wasting that much on something he didn't even want.

I disagree with this part and I learned the lesson the hard way.

I do provide services and I deal with clients. I focused mostly with 2 big clients, this April, when the downturn started, they both decided to stop the same month, I (almost) lost my revenue overnight, but I had other, "smaller clients" waiting to work with me.

Now I prefer 10 medium to small clients than 1-2 big.

Diversification should apply in every aspect of your biz. Income, traffic, providers etc etc

I agree. You can still have a strong network and emails of 50 rich clients where you can get work quickly if something like this happens.

And yeah, no single-points-of-failure, more than 1 business + automation/outsourcing, etc.
