The Feds should never usurp states rights in the first place. How gracious of them to give back what was theirs in the first place........

What it is, is the state law is okay with medical marijuana but the federal law is not lined up with state law. So the DEA (under federal guidance) can bust in guns blazing and can take and destroy and arrest anything they want.

But honestly, this is pretty much fake... See, this isn't law, it's just a... suggestion, doesn't mean shit pretty much.

Until I see actual legislation protecting the dispensaries and people who need them, don't mean shit really.

HB-2835 Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act 2009, would be the official seal of approval and provide the "proper" protection the people need.

    ---

Anyway, I just wish they would stop arresting users... there isn't a need. Pretty pathetic that cannabis is schedule I substance and cocaine, which is KNOWN to be addictive is schedule II.

The tides are shifting.... Also out today.... Oakland (California) International Airport will now allow "patients" to carry up to 8 ozs. of marijuana on their flights.

No, I am not making this up!

Where would these patients go with a suitcase packed with 8 oz if any other state wouldn't permit them to walk through customs arguing that it is for trafficking?

That is a good question. I find it funny that it is Oakland that is the first to pass this. Did Michael Vick use his water bottle this past weekend to get through? Never again...

The whole concept of policing the trafficking and use of this plant is what empowers gangstas'. Look at what happened during probation. It's a waste of tax payers money, it's a waste of time, and it's a waste of of good weed.

They did say they couldn't guarantee safe passage at the other end, but they did say that they would not call ahead to warn the other airport.

Also, supposedly the Portland Airport allows patients to carry 24 ozs.

Looks like Oregon will be getting some of the good cali bud.... :D

Besides, what state has "customs" on your arrival? As long as they aren't calling ahead, how would they know? You don't go through security on exit... Least I never have.

Yeah, the gangsta's and the mexican cartels that are now in every American city. 70% of their profits are from mary jane. Legalize, Tax, and Regulate to end the violence.

No way bro, i'm deep on the weed scene and the mexican mafia don't run shit out here. Most of it comes from northern cali or is grown local indoor. They might make cash shipping weed to other places, but 90% of whats smoked in Cali is from Cali. Mexican's have shit week bro. No OG Kush or grand daddy purps available. Ive got a licesnse to grow 96 plants. So when I harvest expect some pics fellas.

You my friend are an educated person when it comes to these matters. I was just explaining to my wife this doesn't really change anything.

It says that they can raid places that are "using medical operations as a front." This IS the DEA we are talking about. The same people who kicked down the doors of this poor woman (she had 6 plants):

im very surprised to hear this, the govt has been slowly taking away our rights, but for this to go through, thats pretty awesome, maybe they will just stop being stupid and legalize it and then tax it and will make mad amounts of cash through taxes and then finally relize how stupid they were to have it illegal for so many years, especially since it has not caused one death and booze caused millions... hmmmm about time...

Yeah I remember that story, it's going to make me feel a lot safer at night knowing she doesn't have those plants, it's ridiculous.

Lol so true. Where are the flights to? I guess if you were going nonstop to Amsterdam then it would be worth it. Other then that, as soon as they leave the "state" then they are fair game to be arrested.

The problem with all these rules about being able to smoke marijuana for medical reasons is that people dont think about others around them. I have absolutely no problem with people smoking the stuff, but if i dont want to smoke it then i dont want to be smoking it (Much like ciggs i guess). For the most part i think they should investigate ways to limit the spread of smoke (Only allowed to smoke in certain areas etc).

Mind you it doesnt really help. I remember a long time when ciggs got banned in bars here (New Zealand), someone was saying. "Whats the point of having a "smoking corner" or "smoking table" in a restaurant. Its like having a peeing corner in a pool. Doesnt matter where it happens, its going to spread everywhere anyway". And its so true. Even limiting the smoking within your own home doesnt work (I live in an apartment block and get so pissed off when the people below us start smoking ciggs galore at 2am).
