O.K. So is it just me...am I paranoid about Big Pharma? What have you heard recently about the Swine Flu...oops, pardon me, H1N1 virus? I remember, they had to rename it because people quit eating pork. Seems to me that all the hoopla has died down and even Mexico has been declared to be safe to travel to. I can't remember the last time I heard of a new case. So, now I see the World Health Organization has declared it to be a Stage 6 pandemic. Little late, maybe?

Ok. now the interesting part...to me that is. I read in the paper today that Glaxco Smith Kline is now developing a vaccine and that it will be ready in 2 weeks. And they are trying to get it "fast-tracked" without any testing and any knowledge of side-effects. So, you ready to get vaccinated against Swine Flu...sorry, H1N1 virus?

Clear this up for me...the W.H.O. surely isn't in cahoots with G.S.K. are they? Just so Big Pharma could make some money? NOOOOOO, couldn't be.

    Regards,

Yeah swine flu is just hype, sure big pharma will try to cash in... Regular flu is more dangerous and prevalent than swine flu, it's just that the bullshit sensationalist media over covers stupid stuff like this because people watch it.

I am sure the under-tested vaccine will probably do more harm than good, but I am also sure they will make bank off it...

The thing is, you can die from swine flu even if you're a young and healty individual whereas that is (probably) not (as much) the case with the regular flu. Sure it's overhyped, there was a HUGE pandemic of H1N1 in late 60s that killed a million people. And half a million die of regular flu every year. But if swine flu became as common as the common flu, the shit would really hit the fan. You never know... just that it's an excellent time to sell swine flu vaccines. Do they have an affiliate program?

I dont know. It surely is a big thing now in the media. "A new swine flu case just broke out in blah. blah" But it would be a good time to monetize off of it, especially with all of the paranoid people out there.

Tee hee, do a search on amazon for
    McKesson Tamiflu Capsule 75Mg - Pack of 10 - Model 1787316

Didn't they used to say Tamiflu was just as effective against swineflu? :)

I agree, just one big hype. If you are healthy and have a stonge immune system, and you happen to do get the flu, then you will only have it for no longer then a week with weaker symptoms then the regular flu. The people that have to really worry about it the most would be the elderly.
