Number of keywords increase but traffic does not change much. What is your opinion?

I have a forum. I did not work on it for the last 4 years and the traffic decreased. It used to have 5x traffic (from long tail keywords I guess).

I restarted working on it at around the beginning of October. When I analyze it with Ahrefs, I see that the number of organic keywords increases consistently. But I can not say the same for the traffic.

Screenshot for the number of keywords and the traffic is below. Let me know what you think about it. Am I on the right path? Is it getting better? What do you suggest to make it better?

My assumption is this: SERP for long tail keywords improves but this does not effect traffic since they could not reach to top 10 yet. So I am on the right path. Do you agree?

    Organic keywords and organic traffic:

By the way, the number for the organic traffic does not reflect the truth. The website has 5000+ sessions per day at the moment but I am tracking the traffic with Analytics and I think the shape for the traffic reflects the truth.

Focus upon a handful of keywords at a time and move them to the first page, that is where traffic comes from.

This is a forum. Content pages are not long and high quality. And the keywords are low volume keywords.

I try to target keywords with large volume using blog pages on that forum but my main focus is to rank for long tail keywords. Which method do you suggest o rank long tail keywords? The method should be cheap since ROI is very low for long tail keywords.

Btw, you did not answer my main question: is my assumption correct?

I think the answer is that for a lot of longtail keywords, you don't get traffic from them if you're not in the top three.

Will I reach top 10 for these long tails in the long run? (based on the figure) I think so. Do I miss something?

    Last bump. Any comments?
