Hi there,

I read on this forum that the minimum number of monthly k/w searches to make money from niche blogs is 10000, but when I look on MNF the ones that have around that many usually have an exclamation mark. So I was wondering can you use those niches successfully or would you really need 10000 AND a green light?

Thanks a lot.

You don't need 10000 monthly searches to make money. Though it is a good number to go for if you can find a niche that you can dominate.

MNF is trying to find you niches that would take no work or minimal work to get ranked #1 for. If you are up to a little challenge, you should pick something with a little competition. You will learn more if you do something that is challenging.

Just my opinion though.

I see, I might go for a exclamation one when I am a bit more skilled up. Thanks a lot.

search for a second opinion, use search button in bhw for
market samuraii... it is top tool

Also, the crucial part that a lot of people miss is searching in phrase, broad, or exact. You definitley don't want broad because you will get way too high of estimates. Also, you are trying to rank for the exact phrase, so broad is not too helpful. I use exact myself, but a lot of people recommend phrase match.

Also, you want to be looking at the number of competing webpages and don't rely on the exclamation point, etc. In addition, you want to be careful because MNF pulls numbers directly from google keyword tool, which is quite good but not always accurate. Some people recommend an adwords campaign to test out the traffic for different keywords. Good Luck!
