OK so iv have brought my site back up to number 1 (got knocked down in the last penguin update) and I am only receiving about 5-10% of the traffic I used too only a few weeks ago. I have redirected the old domain to a new one but used practically the same titles and meta descriptions as before so I can see why that would be putting people off.

When I say 5-10% traffic I do mean from that keyword, I am not receiving hardly any of the long tail keywords I used to get, does this take time to get these back? As all the content is fresh.

Just to put it in perspective I get around 10-15 visits a day from that one keyword as opposed to 150+ previously. I do understand the rankings keep changing and shuffling but I have been number 1 for around a week now.

    Bad season maybe?

Or maybe you lost your long tail kw's and the main kw wasn't the traffic driver.

hmm possibly. It has been pretty good weather over in the UK and I suppose people would rather go out and enjoy it than sit in on the computer. Im 100% certain the traffic came from that keyword though as I'd get around 45 known searches from that keyword and obviously the no data searches would be a lot too which would mainly be that keyword as no other keyword has many searches a month.

I'll check back in when it starts raining, which will probably be at the end of the week knowing our weather :)

I hate to ask but are you sure you are #1 or are you just logged into Google and it's bringing up your site #1 because you clicked on it 100 times?

Good question... also remember you need to SEO your sub-domains not just the homepage.

Are your title tags the same? Is your serp snippet the exact same?

I have sites where the right snippet gets you 60% off all k/w traffic. The wrong snippets gets you 5%.

The season might be having a effect too, people are out BBQ'ing, on holidays and good old Andy Murray too! My main earner has only had one booking this weekend, no one is online buying, weather is too good to be stuck in!

More than likely! Bet you will be back to old normal by end of this week! My busy days are Mondays and Tuesdays (Mix of business admins booking for their bosses and others using work internet!) So i'm guessing by the time i wake tommorow up my inbox is gonna be buzzing with bookings! :hahaha:

That's just the way it kinda goes with IM. It's alot like owning a real shop, the weather, recession and loads of other stuff effect you just the same!

I used a couple rank checkers plus I go incognito when checking rankings just to be sure but thanks for the heads up for newbies.

@dog-tag what do you mean sub-domains? I don't have any? domain.com gets redirected to www.domain.com anyway. Do you mean inner pages? I have the SEO done pretty much perfectly as I see it. It's a hard competition niche. When I was previously ranking I was making around £400-£600 a day but now its more like £40 otherwise I wouldn't be to bothered really. I just find it hard to understand how 3/4 weeks ago loads of people were searching and now they are not.

What do you mean by serp snippets mate? You mean the description? Its pretty much the same yeah I didnt want to duplicate it for obvious reasons but all the main keywords etc are in their plus trying to entice people to click.
