Bit coin is about to surpass gold in its price value.

    https://postimg.org/image/uh6h7zt1j/https://postimage.org/

In the last 5 days it shot up $200.00+

Peoples confidences are at a all time low with the Dollar. I for one just got my first bit coin last week and have witness it increase. Its the internet money, it will become more popular with people as more platforms adapt it. Just remember before smart phones not too many people where online, now thanks to them more people are connected then ever before. Imagine when the next media exist for bit coin that informs more of it and thus the value will increase then mark my words.

Given the volatility of bitcoins it feels like its all time peak is exactly the wrong time to buy. I mean look at what happened after its last peak. My guess is that people who bought theirs cheap are just itching to sell.

Of course I could be wrong, I wasn't expecting Bitcoin to bounce back the way it has.

Bitcoin is not the internet money, the majority of the internet will always use a real currency to buy something. As it being near the price of gold or above it doesn't mean anything. People's confidence in the dollar is very high.

It is indeed the internet money, operating independently of a central bank it depends on the people. The problem is people are not aware of it and also there is not enough platforms that accept it. Mark my words Bit coin will be hitting 1800 and possibly 2400 by the end of the year, all depends on the people and their emotional decisions and also what happens politically. Only time will tell who is right between us my friend.

People are aware of it, and its too much bullshit. Its much easier to accept a real currency.

As much bullshit bitcoin is, it's becoming a real currency. More and more people and shops are using it, heck there are even ATMs for it.

It will never be a real currency, no matter how much the paranoid and criminals promote it. Waiting hours or a day to get something is bullshit when I can just use a debit card and get it a small fraction of the time.

Its obvious you got great hate for BTC and its users, I try to not deal with it because of the current state it is. But if it ever calms down and stops jumping up and down it would be nice addition to other currencies.
Some people use them just because they enjoy the anonimity, that doesn't make them paranoid or criminal.

Do the give you printed QR code on your bill to pay? Watch someone get wasted (unaware) while BTC is crashing and then attempt to pay the bill.

I heard some conspiracy theories, that the people in power will try to create or adapt a global currency and the bitcoin seems like a good choice. I personally don't want to believe in it but the use of bitcoins is growing fast, kind of scary if you ask me.

I don't have hate for it, just speaking the truth. There will never be a good reason to get paid in bitcoin or to use it regularly. The debit card system and banking system is vastly superior to what bitcoin can ever become.

Bitcoin as an alternative achieves nothing. A few people will hold the majority of bitcoins will the rest only have a small amount.

More people are using it, but it still seems like they are treating it more like an investment than a currency. There are people who trade every currency in the world but I would guess traders make up less than 1% of the people who use them. It almost seems more like gold, where people mainly invest in it but will cash out when the price peaks or they're truly desperate.

I could be wrong, I should look for figures on how bitcoins are used these days.

Bitcoin definitely interests me but I don't know how to look at it. It seems like a risky investment and an even riskier choice of currency. Would you accept your paycheck in a form of money that fluctuates in value by 20% every week? Not to mention the legal issues. Governments can sort of ignore bitcoin now because of how relatively small it is in terms of world currencies, but if it ever becomes a true competitor the force of the world governments could mess things up.

I do love it as an experiment in how far you can push fiat currency. People talk about the US dollar having an imaginary value because it isn't based on gold anymore but at least it is backed by the might of the US government. Bitcoin is almost 100% faith based, do we even know who Satoshi Nakamoto is yet? God bless the souls brave enough to explore the razor edge of digital finance, I just worry about the people who jump in without fully understanding the risks.

(Researching this post it seems like calling it fiat currency is contentious. Bitcoin does violate the traditional definition of fiat currency but it also seems to violate traditional ideas about commodities. Since bitcoins have no inherent value, even gold is shiny, I think the term fiat fits best in my mind.)

I hope all of you who have bitcoin prosper, and that the whole endeavor proves my cynicism wrong.
