    Electric cars aren't that great, for now anyways. People are delusional if they think it's any better for the environment. Where does the electricity come from?

    Oh yes power plants that are huge polluters of the world. Until natural energy is used to power up these machines, it's no different then a gas guzzling SUV. The driver just might feel a little better about themselves.

    Like I said im no hippy... but, people that buy electric cars are at least helping us move in the right direct. They buy el cars, which creates a demand, which makes the car manufactures invest more money into environment friendly technology which creates trends that makes more people want to jump on the band wagon, which inevitably forces the governments/big companies to act and make greener energy. And we all know oil is running out and limited and solar technology is going to be one of the biggest industries ever! Possibly bigger than the DOT COM!

    But it all starts with those people that buy energy saving light bulbs, el cars... etc. to "feel a little better about themselves".

    stupid comment. of course E-cars are better for environment. Atomic energy is not polluting directly, in the first place, getting rid of the waste is the problem. Also thought about the possibility to get solar powered energy? It is complete neutral driving, instead of blasting co2.

    Atomic energy will solve all our problems.... huehuehue

    I did also say in my original post about the idea of solar powered energy being a great way to power these vehicles. But alas I don't live in a dream world, I live in reality where 70% - 80% of power in the united states alone is from coal burning power plants.

    Do some reading about the topic before you dismiss my views as stupid;

    dont get me wrong, i dont jump in the water for atom energy. my home is completley powered by watercraft and solar energy.
    Actually we talk about two different things: the one side is how it is currently used, most of the time fueled with energy from coal or atom energy, the other side i ment is the POSSIBILITY to drive neutral, which is given. So in the end it depends on the user like everytime, but the possibility to drive environment-friendly is already there.
