G'day all, sorry if I'm not posting in the right section, I tought this one would be the most fitting, but not sure.
Please move this thread where it belong if needed!

So I'm wondering...

I got a 15k emails list from my main website, I'm using it rarely to promote some products or give discount codes.
We talk about email list pulled from the website, each email is a customer.

Now is the question part :

If you were me, would you use this list exclusively for the main website? If yes, why?
What would YOU do with this list? Promote another website? Try to sell products in the same niche from another website?

All customers are returning or engaged, I'm affraid to lose their trust if they understand their email has been "sold" to be marketted, so I'm seeking advise from more experimented members...

Thanks!

Promote something with same niche to get best results and try to make your list bigger.

That's a real risk you run, especially if they can tie it back to you/your website. Of course all I see someone doing about it is unsubscribing from your emails.

As for what I would do kinda depends on the audience you have - men or women, age group, income levels...

Can you send out a newsletter and promote something inside the newsletter?

Thanks for your answers!
Promote another website and promo code,or affiliate links

It's one of my toughts, but I never did affiliate, always sold items I had in my local inventory so I need to learn about it.
What did you promised them when they signed up to your list?

Think about that

Amd if you haven't promised them any offer, thibk about what that website is about. The specific niche.
Nothing, they opt in when they order from my website, after that I send them an email from time to time trying to get a returning customer with a discount offer.

That's one of my best guess, the thing is I have other websites niches and would like to change a bit, so marketting them with a different offer has crossed my mind but I'm really not sure about this ...

Yep, every customers that understand this won't return to my store.
Big miss? Don't think so, but I have a geat reputation and don't want to ruin it.

I know the audience, and yes I already have a mailing solution hosted on one of my VPS for mailing purposes.

why?

If people on your email list subscribed on their own then they can be the most valuable "prequalifed leads" for your business.

What is your website about? What kinds of products do you sell?

If I were you, the first thing I would do is profile. The profiling techniques used would differ based on the kind of website you have.

One common technique is to create an email funnel. It would have a series of few emails giving a sneek peek of your product, and at the end of each email, i would place the conversion CTA.

Some folks will engage with all your emails but won't convert, some will engage with all and convert, some will engage with 1 or 2 emails and some will not engage at all.

This way you would have data on who has money to spend. Then you can target the addresses appropriately, you send different emails targeted to folks who have converted and those who haven't.

You can keep your users constantly engaged by sending them emails in regular intervals. That way they will never forget that your website exists.

You can send updates about new product launches, or new websites created by you.

A user subscribed Email list can be a very valuable resource. It's a "direct liason" between your engaged users and your business. Don't lose their trust and you can make a good fortune.

Use a newsletter with valuable information and include some related aff banners in it to cash in every time you send it.

The easiest way to use this email list for your other projects is to create an official partnership with that other brand of yours and inform the users that customers of brand a now get a promo for brand b. What this does is allows you to email blast your 2nd brand while retaining some semblance of responsible data usage.

You are already promoting products and discounts to the list, you can continue promoting other products....
