    I think I found a gem on godaddy auctions, which I just bought for $15.
    It's a 1 y/o domain which doesn't even appear in ahrefs but it's an EMD(almost, it has a very good sufix), the main kw has almost $100 CPC, and, you guessed it folks, high competition. There are a lot long tails with very high CPC also.
    Not sure how relevant this is, but Estibot appraises it's value at $700.
    Right now I am really, really excited, and I need a plan to get the most value out of it. I do not want to say here the exact domain name for the next 3 days and I'm not sure it's wise to do so after. So I do not know how to help you help me.

    Congrats, but there is a long way to go from having a great domain to ranking it on top 3.

    And you really think gems are worth $15? If it was really something good other people would see it. You just bought a domain for $15

    I wouldn't use automated services for domain appraisal, their calculated price means nothing

    nothing too serious, if it's a good emd you can sell the domain probably for like 100 maybe 200, but better to check if the domain is clean and not penalized or something and rank a site over it, that is, if you can.

    No matter who pm's you asking for the domain name, NEVER give it out. That's the best advice I can give you right now.

    after reading all this, you're basically at the same spot at buying a domain for 99cents off godaddy.
    and if that domain is been slapped by google, you're in a Worse position

    When I saw there are no statistics in ahref, I checked the domain: it's not blacklisted of any sort.

    @SkyrocketSEO
    A gem is a something valuable. I hope it's not worth only $15.
    I have to say thank you, because the site you're advertising in the signature actually inspired me to go hunting today. I have bought a few domains at godaddy auctions, but I never had in mind to look for a highly desired name (I wasn't even considering the possibility that this kind of domain might not be premium)... Until today. Thank you!

    Edit: After making further investigation, I found out that some pages are indexed in google. I found out webmaster's personal Facebook and twitter and he hasn't posted on these profiles since last summer, and before that he was posting with regularity. Sad, but likely, he might be dead.
    On a happier note, the site seems to have been developed in the incipient phase: it has little design, was made on blogger, 11 authority articles (read some of them, checked all of them with copyscape and few other tools); I can see it was clearly made for Adsense purposes but the previous owner didn't have the opportunity to post the ads. The articles are "how to-s" on the topic and I can use them for the site. I already saved them.
    So I think it's a jackpot.

    My tips for you to understand if you have really a gem:
    1) check the domain on majesticseo and see what backlinks and anchors has the domain
    2) write on google the keyword with quotes "your keyword" and check how many results do you have
    3) use marketsamurai or other to see the real competition of the top 10 results

    @Piedone
    1. There are no bl's whatsoever. history shows 20 bls on sites that no longer exist
    2. 1.2 mil for first kw, and for the whole emd 3.3 mil
    3. PR4, 5 and 6 domains with with DA from 12 to 17.
