    Hi,

Excuse the newbie SEO question but I need help with this before buying SEO services from the service section of the forum.

I have a forex site. It has keywords such as "forex day trading", but when I run a test to check for my ranking on certain keywords, it says that I am not ranked??

Now I want to buy backlinks for these keywords (e.g. forex day trading) but if I am not ranked for them, will it be worhit, will it get me ranked for these words?

I know it's probably a stupid question, but I am confused to why I do not appear in googles million of search result for keywords when they are contained on my site and need to know if buying backlins for those keywords will get my site appearing for them in google.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the answer - Will backlinks get me ranked for keywords that I am not currently ranked for. E.g. If I buy 20k backlinks with the keyword "forex day trading" that I am not currently ranked for, would there be a good chance after that my site will be ranked for htis keyword, or is that dependant on onsite keywords??

I think I found my answer:

When you work on your offsite optimisation on things such as your backlinks then you will be anchoring the link back to your site with certain keywords. Search engine robots crawl these links and end up onto your site. These robots will scan your site for relevence to the anchor text used in the backlink. Now if you had a backlink that was anchored to your site using the keyword "SEO tips" and never had anything mentioned on your site about SEO tips then the backlink you created will have little to no value. However if you had the same anchored backlink to your website and SEO tips was mentioned on the site then this will class as a relevent backlink straight away and your site will be given credit. This is what I mean by your offsite and onsite optimisation strategy complementing one another

If the words are in there and it's not supplemental it's ranked, but you can only check the first thousand serps.

What kind of site are you trying to rank for that? There are a lot of really spammy sites but the ones who SEO'd their way to the top definitely have diverse profiles you can't get just spamming links out. You'll definitely need some strong relevant links.

Scrape the links of you biggest competitors; in my niche it pays to post to the PR4+ blogs by hand so your comments will be accepted. You have a very competitive, high money niche where your audience is often knowledgeable, so you need to show that you are going to offer valuable content if people visit your site, and you need G**gle to find the links from the best sites which offer relevant context for your site. Hand commenting on site which are not autoapproved takes some time, for but niches like forex, anything to do with stocks, etc., its worth it. Also ping your links and make sure you have some high quality outbound links to authoritive sites related to forex.
