I have a keyword I've been trying to rank and not getting anywhere with it. The monthly search volume is 3,000. Here's what I'm doing.

Here's my GSA tiered link setup. I have Web2.0's in a separate tier because I'm testing out SEREngines.com

    tieredsetting.jpg

Here's a crappy paint picture of what the tiered structure looks like.

    Tiered_Diag.jpg

My next thought was well I'm building all of these links, maybe they're not getting indexed. I went and checked ahref's.

    ahref.jpg

I've been working on this site for about 2 months now trying to figure it all out. The number of links only increases about 10 per day. That was telling me no, my links aren't being indexed. GSA SEO Indexer is a joke. It's like built in drip feeding because it's so slow. I have it at 1000 threads. I could move it to quick indexer, but then that's even less of a chance that my links will get indexed.

    indexer.jpg

My next move was to get a decent indexing service. Based solely on the price and the fact that I'm only making 5K links a day. I decided to go with Linkprocessor.net. I wanted some way to verify that my links were getting indexed. The only thing I could think of was Scrapebox index checker. Apparently this isn't a viable solution. I sent a pm to the owner deki33 and asked how to check. His response.

    deki33.jpg

So basically I have to build 2 of every site. Just to verify your service is working? Talk about a blind market. How does anyone determine quality between link indexers? It's total domination as well because if your links aren't indexed everything you've done to create them is down the toilet.

Here's where I sit from serpcloud. All of my keywords/anchor text have a monthly search below 8K.

    ranking.jpg

I thought maybe I had too many anchors in GSA so I dialed it back to just 8. I have all my variations set anywhere between 5-15% on the Data tab in GSA just to give some sort of variation.

At this point I'm either going to build so many links it gets deindexed or it will finally rank. It's been 4 weeks now. (I had to restart the GSA campaign half way through)

At 3K searches a month I don't think it matters what the keyword is, but I'll pm it to anyone who's willing to help. God knows the last thing I need is more competition.

The problem is you are putting too much faith in these tools.

These tools are 2nd rate strategies at best.

These days things like paid links and blog networks are gonna rape your GSA set-up six ways to Sunday.

Forgive me if I don't value your opinion because your website has a section called SEO tools and has more there then I even own. Along with the QUOTE.

"If great search engine rankings is your goal you then you need the right SEO tools to help you get there. Here is a list of some of my favorite tools that I personally use every day that I know will help you as well."

You can't project one view on your website and then come to forums and say something else.

However you are correct in saying that paid links and PBN are the way to go. It's just more money then I'm willing to invest on 1 project right now. Especially when the search term is 3K per month. Seems I can't even churn and burn my way to the top.

I look forward to your free SEO tips and training though.

GSA is not powerful as it used to be... I can't even rank youtube videos or parasite sites with GSA anymore.. But it's a good tool for tier2,tier3..

It`s not only backlinks, you better check onpage seo too. Even minor changes can make huge difference in rankings. Like removing big images above fold, making home page static with a lot of content and many more. I´ve seen huge serp increases making only onpage seo better.

    Cheers

I only have about 6 months into GSA, but I can see your point. Maybe I just need to make some more Tier 1's. SEREgines spits out some pretty good ones, but manually making them and fine tuning every detail may be the way to go. Then putting those into GSA to do it's work.

Have you checked with a tool like ahrefs to see what live links you have?
Have you looked at competitors profiles to see what sort of link profile they have?

i have tried a similar strategy and found the results a bit better than this, but it was extremely slow.

in my experience gsa works better direct to the money site - but of course that is more of a churn and burn strategy.

I read a case study on doseoyourself.com about some changes he made on his page that help out his rankings. I'll have to research more about what changes make the biggest difference. Maybe even compare my page to the top 10 and see what I can change around.

I'm sure the link profile is crap, but I mean come on it's a 3K a month search term. I am going to start comparing to the competition though. That's a good idea.

Like I said I'm going on about 4 weeks of really researching and trying stuff out. It's a learning experience for sure. In more ways than one.

That's what I've noticed too. People sell backlinks at 10K a pop for $5 and BAM! #1 for some stupid keyword. like WTF? It's short term though I understand that. At this point I just want to get on page one and find some formula that works.

I apologize if I sounded crass, I just meant that these tools are not as effective as they once were.

Though they are still useful these days, they only work in conjunction with other types of strategies (ie with SAPE links for churn and burn etc)

Before you could rank stuff merely using these tools, however these days it is not the case.

You have no idea what your talking about, buying links doesn't rape GSA, apparently you don't know how to use this tool and that is why you have to spend money to buy links (if you do that at all) from services that promise you awesome rankings when in fact you ruin your website.

    @OP

Your tier building is way to complicated, first lets start with SEREngines.com, that is a crappy service that only produces useless web 2.0 if they do that at all, so for that i would recommend you build your tier one web2 sites yourself, for a midterm keyword you need to build 20/30 web2.0 sites. you should use autofillmagic.com and build those sites semi automatic.

    Building your web 2.0
This is how i build my web 2.0 tier, i manually spin 3/4 500 word articles, that will cost me have a day but the output is readable and 60% unique, i will post these all articles at once (nothing screams spam like a one article web 2.0 property) also i will be adding images and videos (make sure you SEO your images and vids)

    Promoting Web 2.0
For this i only use two tiers, the first tier is for contextual links (select articles, web 2.0, wiki, bookmarks, docs etc), here you can use auto spun content, in the second tier i select almost everything except adult video and have that blast links to the first gsa tier)

    Indexing your links
I see you use Linkprocessor.net, i have used them to for a month but did'n had success with them, a lot of times the site was down or under "DDOS" attack so i want over to lindexed.com and have a better result.

    Having a AA list
I don't know if you use a list or that you let GSA do the scraping for you, but i would recommend to invest time and some resources for scraping your own list, a lot of people fail (and blame it on the software) because they let GSA do the scraping for them, get a cheap VPS and a copy of scrapebox/gscraper and build your own list, i would not recommend buying or using a shared list as these are hammered by so many people that they are next to useless

This alone should get your website ranked within a 2/3 week period, you can also use aged domains 301 them to your moneysite and blast those with links.

a 3000 searches in the month keyword should not take two months (2/3 weeks tops) to rank with GSA

For a 3000 p/m search keyword, there is no need to pay for links, so YES that is what i am saying, PBN is great don't get me wrong, but it is overkill for a keyword of 3000 searches a month.

If you saw what this keyword was, you'd laugh your ass off. I used various sources to pick this out. PR is low on the first page. It's a very rankable word. the #1 spot looks like he built his page in 5 seconds. It's a joke.

Fair enough. I can see that perspective. I'm pressing forward none the less.

Thanks for the helpful post. This is what I was looking for.

Like I said I used Linkprocessor just based on the price. I might switch over to indexification or something else.

I was debating between Autofill Magic and SEREngines. Looks like I made the wrong choice.

I have the AA bluelist from Ron at SERlists.com. He's a great guy and has a decent lists so I'm told. Obviously I haven't been using the tool right to confirm that. I was using shared lists to start with. I thought I could get around that by changing the PR and OBL settings. That's why I just restarted from scratch.

I'll make some Web2.0's and build a simpler campaign and see how things go the next 2 weeks.

Thanks again for your post I really appreciate it!

    My thoughts exactly.

I consider that even for 3000 KW there are methods that can help you to rank, I don't talk about the tool that you use, I think that is more about your strategy that you apply for ranking such a KW.

I also think you are overcomplicating your campaign, imo, some time a plain simple tier 1 (Web 2.0 + edu blogs + some high PR blog post) + tier 2 to web 2.0 and edu blogs can create a lot more powerful strategy.

For GSA SER, i mainly use it under 3 strategies:
    1. Use it as tier 2 to empower my Web 2.0, i have seen good result if you web 2.0 is powerful enough, don't focus on just spamming it, you will need to populate your web 2.0 with more articles.
    2. As a diversified tools (both anchors and links profile) with high PR links such as SAPE or your personal PBN.
    3. Direct spam, nothing to say here lol.

However, something a lot of people are missing, but keep on complaining about their tools, networks, links power or whatsoever, is your ONPAGE.

Check some competitive niches, thousand of websites still ranking with the same strategy as before panda 4.0, and yea panda 4.0 is targetting on onpage, it makes perfect sense to tweak it as hard as you possibly can.

Since the OP was taking so "personal" the PM that I've sent to him (trying to help, nothing else), lets discuss about your strategy here OPEN.
GSA is a very powerful software but is not the best for low rate KW, that is because you need to have AAA list for Tier 1 and there are few websites with high PA/DA/PR were GSA can really submit without being penalized.
What I strongly suggest to you is to change the way of thinking 1st - at least I don't need anything from you. Going to the POINT:
    1. You should create your own network of Web 2.0 (blogs if you can do it will be the best)
    2. You can apply the simplest campaign from GSA by spamming the Tier 2/3 and like this you grow the authority of your Tier 1
    3. Check always the trend of that KW - it can happen that being at 3k searches/month to go even lower than that and in this case you will not have trend activity - that means you can do all proper but since there are no "clicks" that will make the "follow up" you can't grow your network therefore you can't grow your site. Is so simple.
And about my PM to you - do what you want :) Whom ever knows me from this community knows that I have no interest to take profit from any of my actions unless if I really deserve it :)

The blue list is a great list (i have bought it to) to start with, but not in the way you use it (overcomplicating your tiers), still i would advice to buy the video course that Donald Beck (i hope i get the name right) is selling on the GSA forum and scrape your own lists.

The thing is that even the list from Ron is getting hammered by 50 users, some of them have multiple SER setups and i also saw the list being sold in a groupbuy, that is why you should build and maintain your own list and keep that to yourself.

    Good luck

Both of them are great SEO'ers, but suggesting to use Ron's list for such a low KW is a pure waste of time :) (my humble opinion though).
