    Hey guys,

Let's say I have the following site:

    hxxp://www.mainsite.com

I make a subpage targetting a specific keyword:

    hxxp://www.mainsite.com/targettingkeyword

I DON'T link from the main page (hxxp://www.mainsite.com) to the subpage.

Will this hurt my site SEO wise? My only purpose of the sub page is to have it rank in the Search Engine for a specific keyword.

I don't think that it is hurting SEO. But still you have to bring SE robots to your targetted page via category, tags list on your homepage or link from another page to have it indexed. No index, no ranks :D

No it will not hurt your SEO efforts. The page needs to be listed somewhere like on your sitemap so it will be indexed by google. But I would recommend linking every subpage back to your main page.
