I'm putting up DJ sites in multiple cities and towns that are in close proximity to each other (within 90 miles). Each one is a standalone site with its own keyword geo-targeted domain name.

The small (3 page) sites are EXACTLY the same except for the city modifier... was trying to do this the easy/lazy way. The first 2 sites that got indexed are #1 in google for their search term. The other 7 sites can't seem to get indexed.

Does anyone know if this is simply because of duplicate content? It just seems to boggle the mind that google wouldn't let a business try to expand this way... are they looking for unique content from each? IP address from host? Do we need to change each site to 40% original/different?

I'm also in another unrelated niche with a number of sites targeting different parts of the country and am running into the same problem.

I'm sure I'm answering my own question here, so I guess I better get writing and see if I can get these reindexed???

Any insight or suggestions about this whole process would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
