You need to install the proper wifi driver for the exact model of wireless network adapter you have in your notebook. You can find that out with a tool like AIDA64. You need to know, if your Windows is 32 bit or 64 bit and install the Windows 7 driver accordingly. There are certain tools, which can help you out finding the driver automatically like Driver Booster.
With Win 7 you usually need to install drivers manually, which is not the case on Win 10.
Check wifi adaptor driver. It's common in old laptops after installing OS you have to manually install the WiFi/Network driver.
You can download the drivers online.
Install as per you device model number and network adapter modelThe model is compaq 620 From official HP site, I see this : https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/compaq-620-notebook-pc/4158455
Which driver among these listed I have to install ?
It's not loading for me. If you see any, you should install the wireless network driver for Windows 7, either the 32 bit or 64 bit version according to the Win 7 you installed. The model is compaq 620 From official HP site, I see this : https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/compaq-620-notebook-pc/4158455

It is an old operating, core 2 duo processor. Though ram is 3 gb I think windows 10 will drain a lot of it.could ask you why don't install win 10 OS instead ? win 7 outdated and MS not supported it anymore .
