Hey guys, I've at a bit of a loss as to what I can do to start making money by promoting clickbank products.

    Allow me to elaborate:

I started affiliate marketing a few months ago when I was in a pretty sad financial place (I'm a jobless college student going to an expensive art school.)

I stumbled upon affiliate marketing by accident. It sounded like a god-send, and I'm not even religious. I started off by making a free blog (I was REALLY broke at the time) and I started making youtube videos with powerpoint and camtasia to promote the products I was listing on my site.

I just went for the products w/ the highest gravity in the E-marketing category, this was a mistake. I hadn't come to realize it until about a week ago though.

The niche I chose is vastly over-saturated...Only the big dogs get to pee on the proverbial fire hydrant.

Either way I sold a flash game I made for $225 (it took about 2 months to complete and sell, otherwise I'd make more for a living.)

Using some of the profit from that game, I bought a domain name and hosting through hostgator, and thought "now that I have a site, I'll actually be able to make a sale!" I also purchased 5,000 views for one of my vids in an effort to generate some traffic for my site.

about 2 weeks went by, no sales.

At this point I thought my site was the problem...it needed some SEO-lovin' to get more traffic. So I fully optimized it for search engines just yesterday, and I double-checked that it was good to go with aboutus(dawt)0rg

I also started up a twitter account to help promote my site and some CB products. I've about 80 followers so far...I've only plugged my site twice and a product once, I'm working on building trust and value for anyone who follows me before I start marketing a little more fervently.

I've also written an article I believe has great potential, only ignorance stands in my way of utilizing it. I've got no idea where to submit it, how to get some backlink action on it, or whether or not I should spin it. I don't even have a spinner, haha.

Anyway I'm just looking for some guidance here, I've got $85 left to invest in my affiliate marketing endeavors...but the reality is more like $23 after I pay my cell phone bill-- I'm debating on whether or not it would be wiser to pay for my phone or utilize my remaining funds to take my affairs in a different direction.

Anyway that's just a quick overview of what I've been doing regarding affiliate marketing. I'm not even close to giving up, I don't do that. I just need someone to throw some wind in my sails so I don't sit out in the middle of the ocean floundering.

Thanks in advance guys, this forum has helped me a lot already...I just need to know what I'm doing wrong.

    -Dollarsfordays

P.S: If anyone's interested in mentoring me I can provide graphical services (animations,banners,logos,etc...) for their sites. Shoot me a PM with your MSN or asking for mine and we'll go from there.

P.P.S: I've also heard about people doing CPA and making decent money from it, would that be a more logical pursuit than trying to promote products?

If you don't even know where to submit an article things are getting tough for you, my friend.
Make use of the search function here, find your topics and start reading!

Hate to be blunt, but you have either one of the two following problems.
You either don't have targeted traffic or you don't have enough targeted traffic.

    It's really that simple.

If you have heard that people are making good money worth CPA it's because they are sending targeted traffic to the offer!

But, saying that there are ways to make money without sending targeted traffic to your offer.

I mean that you can make money by getting people to download your files. But they do have to fill out a CPA offer before they get your file.

But for that approach you would still need to find people who are interested in your file, so in essence you still need targeted traffic.

Try sharecash[.]org , dengee .net or adscendmedia!

This is probably the easiest way to make some quick cash online, because people love getting free stuff... don't we all?

You need to get accounts at these main article directories ezinearticles, goarticles, articlebase and buzzle. These are the main ones i used to submit articles and gain backlinks, plus get me the most clickthroughs to my money site.

Goto onlywire.com and register with all the social websites you find here, you will need to place some code on your website plus download some software onto your computer for the submitting process. This is the best free way ive found to bookmark my daily blog posts or articles etc.

Also use scribd, docstoc, and slideshare which may bring some useful visitors and backlinks.

This should get you heading in the right direction.

I'm just going to address what you can do with your article and let others help you with other parts of your situation.

Have you put your article on your site yet? That's the first thing I would do. Then check out some of the free backlink-building software offered here at BHW. I'd start here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...rum-profile-creator-poster-lots-features.html

Build a bunch of backlinks to your article and make sure it's indexed. Do a Google search on the url of the article and see if it shows up. If it does, it's indexed.

Then, once your article is indexed, submit it to ezinearticles, with one link leading back to the article on your site using your best keyword as anchor text, and another great keyword anchor leading to the page on your site talking about whatever you are trying to sell.

After that, go to spinnerchief.com and get a free spinner. Spin your article but make sure it's still human readable. Do a search for high pr article directories and start submitting spun versions of your article to those high pr article directories - I would start with ArticleBase and GoArticles.

There are automated ways to do all these things and people here willing to provide all these services, but those cost money. Everything I've listed can be done for free and the only cost is your time and effort.

    Good luck!

In addition to Onlywire, which JackSparrow mentions above, you can also use SocialAdr for bookmarking. It's free and very easy to use once you sign up for the various accounts.

Well I dont think you should give up as you say.
Just to let you know, I started doing clickbank and I submitted one article for one product and cloaked my .net domain in the resource box.
I actually made a sale yesterday and I was so excited...only 2.50 USD mind you but still it was a great day. I didn't put any effort in apart from writing the article which took me ten minutes...I guess people liked it as I had quite a few click thrus.
Today I will write ten articles and start campaigning as I see one sale may be turned into ten and so on.
I think articles really are the best way as people who find you articles are obviously targeted as they would not be reading it otherwise.
I am far from a guru as you see but I am learning everyday and enjoy it.
There are some great people on this forum too and most will be willing to help.
Here's to your first sale, this will give you the motivation to move forward quickly.
    Good luck
    Barry

Hey guys, just wanted to give a quick thanks to the users who came in and decided to help lift my spirits a little. I would have thanked everyone sooner but I was busy taking ACTION! hahaha.

I haven't made a CB sale yet, but I'm still feeling my way through various ways of generating traffic and backlinks and whatnot. Here's a bit of my progress:

-I've managed to get 100 Followers on twitter without using any kind of auto-tweet software.

-I switched my niche and joined amazon affiliates in order to promote real products that are easier to sell.

-I installed WP today on a subdomain and wrote 3 posts with some amazon affiliate links to get a feel for it.

-I downloaded AMR's trial version and blasted about 10 articles (all different, 7 for my main website with CB products and 3 for my new WP sub-blog.)

-I've been indexed in google for my main site, if you type in my domain the first few spots belong to me and my pages :). I need to find a way to make users search for my site and I'll make a lot of conversions.

So that's what I've been up to, implementing what I was told to do.

Also EasyText: Congrats on the sale mate! if you don't mind my asking what site did you submit it to? I've easily thrown my 10 articles (with cloaked links & uncloaked links) to 100+ sites and I still haven't made any conversions...I know I write great content, I believe that AMR's not sending them to the right places...Great for getting indexed but not so much for making sales.

Either way I'm pleased with my progress, things are evolving rapidly-- I know I'll start making some $ soon and I'll be able to utilize more resources with it.

My next move is going to be building my social networking presence more as I'm not even close to using that outlet to it's potential.

    Whew...Lots of typing.
Regardless, I'm having fun. Marketing is a blast.

    Dollars.

just a quick question. Who did you sell the game to?

I have a couple of games i worked on a while back but never finished and wouldnt mind polishing them off and punting them if theres a service setup for it.

I'm not desperate. And I don't think the forum would take too kindly to that.

That's a good model to follow. I'll try it out :).

I used flashgamelicense (you gotta google it, forum doesn't allow linkage.) It's a website that allows flash portals to bid on games like they're on Ebay. Though the website itself takes 10% of your final cut. Sometimes if you're lucky the sponsor will pay the 10% commission price.

Alternatively, you could gather a list of flash game sponsors (just google one, they're on blogs and whatnot for copying) and send out a mass of emails with a link to your game in them. I'd be careful with this method as some sponsors can be less reputable and try to decompile your game without paying.

    Hi Dollarsfordays,

This is what I do to get sales with clickbank.

    1. go to alexa and check out which keywords people are searching for on ezine
    2. Look on ezine and check out the articles and mimic them. When writing the articles do not explain how to do it you want them to click to see how to do it.

    3. go to clickbank and choose your offers, choose offers that pay over $25

    4. Download spinnerchief its free. Spin your articles and make 10 articles for each niche.

    5. Choose keywords using google keywords. What I like to to is choose the high volume long tail keywords with many keywords contained with in the main keyword phrase. For example:

how to get rid of acne scars
how to get rid of acne
    get rid of acne scars
    get rid of acne

All these keywords are contained in the main keyword phrase which becomes my title. How To Get Rid Of Acne Scars

    6. submit 2 to 3 articles per day on each niche to ezine. This is easy to do after spinning the articles. Make sure they read correctly. Note: new accounts take 7 days to approve each article, don't worry keep submitting.

    for example:
    niche 1: 2-3 articles
    niche 2: 2-3 articles
    niche 3: 2-3 articles

    7. Create a review site and write review on the product, do not sell the product just explain what it is. comments really help with convincing the visitors to take the next step.

What you can expect when your articles are accepted and published. Traffic to your website. How much, on average each article will bring 20-50 views some more some less. I have had articles bring 150-200 views with a 40-50% click thru when they are published. The point is keep writing them, make sure they make sense and make sure you resource box tells the reader to click to see more.

Meanwhile start building links to your review site to bring it up in the serps
