Hey so I read about canonical URLs and got confused.

which version of a URL do you normally send your links to? Say I'm using a web 2 as a buffer and blasting GSA links to it, should they go to http://www.example.yolasite.com OR http://example.yolasite.com

If I check the link in the browser address bar it's http://example, but how would I know if that's actually the url being used, because browsers put everything in that format I think.

Also wondering if a website owner 301s http://www.example.com to http://example.com, does a a 301 pass all the link juice from www to non www? If so then I wouldn't have to worry about which URL I guess.?
