Hello Blackhatters,

I usually get my graphics done myself. I'm not so bad, but I basically copy and paste here and there to put together something presentable. I was just wondering, if I wanted to take things a bit more commercial (say, shirts for instance), and thought of using a graphics library that I can utilize on a commercial scale with a proper license, what would be the best and most cost-effective option?

Do I go for FreePik? (not affiliated, just asking)

I know with their membership you get to use whatever in however way, but if say I just subscribe for a couple of months, create my designs and then puff, gone; do I still hold complete ownership of the designs I created while on the plan?

Would really appreciate your input, feel free to suggest an alternative

yes you have complete ownership of the designs if you sell/publish/use them before the end of your subscription.
please read thier licence for more details.

"75+ million premium stock photos, videos, audio, and graphics free-to-use – included in your Canva Pro membership."

It's worth $12 / month

Yeah, I love Canva!

But can I still use their graphics on photoshop and not through the cloud-based design system?

First sell this to someone, then worry about making it. You'll simply realize doing this commercially is much different when you must make it and not simply want.
You'll feel the need cause you are obliged to do it.

How commercial do you want to make? Amazon merch standard? or Teespring Mega seller standard?

I managed to build up a hefty portfolio of designs for merch sites (1k+), but I would say only about 50 were teespring standard.
Looking back on those designs, I'm amazed I managed to find similar images, like skulls for example, but many times it is easier to just redesign over the old image,
making the eyes a different shape, and the nose with a broader chin, in the example of a skull. I have a Wacom tablet, and I used that a bit for those 50 designs,
while just copy paste, some colouring/erasing/positioning work for the rest. I just take any image I can find from the many free clipart sites.

Writing is easier. I will stick to copy.
