So, I took the advice of these forums and went with a free host to promote some CPA offers since I'm kind of strapped for cash at the moment.

However, I plan on raising the organic listings for these websites. Do free accounts such as nichehere.hostei.com not rank that well?

I don't want to put in a bunch of work on a free site if my efforts aren't worth it.

any free site can rank. the question is how to keep it up after it suddenly drops, which it eventually will. how to get it re-indexed by the SE .etc.

From my experience subdomains rank just as well as regular domains. Take craigslist for example if you want to see subdomains that are ranking well.

The search engines views them as a completely different sites so the PR or the original domain will not effect the subdomain. Only acception to this rule that I've heard of is if the domain thats running the sub on been de-indexed.
