    Hello,

i build a twitter bot that brings me ~ 1000 unique visitors / day.
i then created a simple wordpress page about how to make money on twitter.

I tried to monetize the page in the following way:

    1) pay per lifetime with sponsored tweets.
    2) fiverr affiliate program
    3) Tweetadder affiliate program
    4) adworkmedia pay per lifetime
    5) peerfly pay per lifetime

    Problem:
After one month of waiting i earned exactly 0.00$ :)

So i just added adsense to the page.
Now im making ~ 3-5$ a day with my 1000 unique visitors.
Ctr is around 3 % and cpc is around 0.15$.
Most of them come from tier 1 countries like usa, uk, canada...

How much would a skilled webmaster make with the above setup?

Please give me some tips to improve my (poor!?) performance.

    Thanks for your help.

    Guybrush

a eCPM of $3 to $5 is far from being a poor performance especially if it"s non targetted.

Way to improve ? create a product that people may be interested in, give them free in exchange of email, start bulding your targetted list.

You seem to be doing better than most Twitter Marketers.

Mylikes pays pennies for a thousand so you getting that is much better.

Add Disqus and their discovery platform too.

I am in the same boat as you, tried it for more than 2 months now.. twitter sucks.
PM your skype and lets talk more about this

  5. Twitter is good for building a list to push other stuff to them later...That's it.. Twitter users aren't really buyers. At least for me in the past.

Thanks for your answers. I will do some research on list building now.

I had another idea which i tested.

    1) Go to keywordspy or adwords etc and find a keyword thats pays a good avg cpc
    2) go to fiverr and get an article about the keyword or scrape one from the web
    3) Build a website with this article
    4) Ad adsense with a high ctr heatmap theme
    5) Make big money :)

1-4 worked quite well while 5 doesent ;-) (as usual for me)

This website is about "online degrees"
Maybe i didnt really understand it but adwords shows me that these online degree related keywords have a huge cpc with above 20$ per click.

I tested the above setup and got a ctr ~ 3% and a cpc of~0.25.
This is a huge difference. i get 1/100 of the adwords cpc.!?
Even 1 $ per click would be heaven for me, because its so scalable.

Why is my cpc so low?

    hi,

i just use zennoposter to build bots, but im learning python 3 now to become more flexible.
zennoposter needs a lot of resources. so im trying to use the twitter api in the future.

the idea behind the bot is quite simple:

    1) input a random word in the twitter search field and press search
    2) press "all" to see all tweets
    3) choose a random user
    4) send a direct reply to this user (i guess its called mention)
    5) Get traffic to your website or aff. offers

You could also replace the random word with a term like "taco bell" to get directed traffic.

You can see all people talking about taco bell for example (its a very active term)

Then you send them a reply like: "just saw your tweet about taco bell. What about this here: (place affiliate link here:) or "get a 1000$ taco bell card bla bla bla)

the conversion rate isnt very good for me.
im just testing this with an optimized landing page.
    Hope to get better results...
    hope that helps....

Why don't you monetize the traffic using adsense? I still see a ton of people driving twitter traffic to their adsense blogs.

maybe my estimates are not realistic but i think that ~ 5$ is quite low for 1000 people visiting my site.

on another site i run i get 1/100 of the adsense cpc that i see in adwords.

(keywords are "online degree" related and have a cpc > 20$ - but Adsense only pays me 0.2$ per click! Adsense does not see twitter as a referer. because i use a redirect. that all does not really make sense to me)

Untargetted traffic is like getting random people to walk through your shop in a train station.... If people didn't decide to walk in, you're basically just a passage for random traffic.

Your earnings are i would say very good, you shouldn't have any worries about that. Just scale up with multiple accounts, proxies etc.
I wonder how many accounts do you use now, and how much "mentions" does your bot make per day to get 1k UVs?

i think these earings could be much higher.
i just read that the adsense CPC entirely depends on what the advertiser bids for each slot, minus a cut by Google.
the traffic source does not seem to influcene the cpc.

so im now trying to kick out the low paying advertisers. lets see if that helps...

Advertisers shown on your website depends on certain things :

#1 The content. If google think your audience deserve other ads that the one shown on your website, they will change it. Your content remains the key, but google get the last word. What you see isn't always what you're audience see.
#2 Avertisers itself. The bid on one keyword is just an indication and doesn't reflects what you will have on your site.
Some advertisers only target google research and not textual ads on website. Some other target only textual ads on certain websites. It all varies.
#3 Location. If your traffic is from outside US, it's all different form the average bid or higher bid in US

Just because the higher bid is $20/Click doesnt mean the second highest bid is $19. It could be 40 cents. Maybe it's only for google search. Maybe the big announcer blacklisted your site because it gives them irrelevent traffic. Maybe oustide us the highest bid is 20 cents.

Stop complaining about your traffic quality and try to uderstand what's happening behind.
