Please, in a wordpress self hosted site should I nofollow my clickbank affiliate links?

(They are cloaked with Pretty Link)

    Gvncerri,

There are some people posting on the web that say having a large number of affiliate links in posts without no follow attributes was harming their rankings. Adding the no-follow attribute seemed to have a positive impact.

Here is a post regarding that,

    http://www.affiliateblogonline.com/2009/08/19/how-to-add-nofollow-to-affiliate-links-in-wordpress/

Here also is a video where Matt Cutt's gives his opinion on adding no-follow attributes to affiliate links. He claims if the network is large enough then Google already knows about it and handles it on their end. He also says that if you are worried about it in any way, just add the no-follow.

Here is a link to that video,

    http://www.webpronews.com/heres-wha...ys-about-affiliate-links-and-nofollow-2012-06

    Hope that answers your question,

    Shawn

It is always advisable to add the no follow attribute to any affiliate link on your site. It is debatable, but it is not going to hurt to just add this attribute.

Keep in mind that the link cloak is basically a masked 301 redirect. Following this line of though, if you're not using nofollow tag you'll be giving away a portion of your link juice to the affiliate link page and certainty you don't want that. Use the nofollow tag buddy.
