Hello BHW friends,

I wanted to know what is your experience with nofollow links in SEO.

Are those nofollow links useful or not?

Could you explain what is your experience?

Many thanks friends!

Use the search field here on the forum, there are endless threads about this same topic ;)

They are useful if they come from high quality websites!

no they are not good for ranking purposes.

Of course they are good. They don't pass as much link juice, but I've ranked a site with only nofollow links. It can be done. However, for some nice healthy diversity, it's always good to have some nofollow links in the mix. If I can get some good nofollow link for free, then bring it on!

what do you mean they don't pass 'as much link juice? ' they don't pass any, google bot not follow these links.

I honestly do not believe, that they don't pass anything at all. From experience.

As everyone stated the Nofollow links wont help in SEO but still they are much needed for your site growth. Nofollow links are usually used to diversify the anchor ratio. Also if you get a nofollow link from a huge brand then its as equal to some ******** links too.

Nofollow links are helpful to the diversification mix and driving the traffic to the websites. If you can possible to get the no-follow links from the top authority news magazines then sure to get it, that will sure to help your website.

This is exactly right. A link profile made up of only normal links will not look natural.

They key here is to find the right amount of each kind of link.

No follow links decides the quality of a site. This is how because if your site has no follow links which mean your site instruct the Google bot not to crawl. This helps to reduce the spamdexing issue by the Google Bot. Then the result of your site is good in SERP.

Nofollow links are still the goodness! Don't look down on it, imo

They're part of a wholistic SEO approach. If you guys think a Wikipedia link is worthless, for example, you're just silly.

I do rank using Nofollow links as well. Agreed with @SEO Pearl and @Nargil as its good to do the diversification. In one word from my experience every links count if its not from useless or spam sources.

I don't know shit about SEO guys, but when I get a link from Wikipedia to a new website, all inner pages start magically ranking. So I guess nofollow links work.

For a total clean, pure link diversity, it is good to add nofollow links to your list.
Makes it look clean and natural.

Nofollow links are great for link diversity + traffic. You don't want a site that has only do-follow links, this looks suspicious to Google.

Nofollow Link is a link that does not affect the ranking meaning it doesn't give a count to your page, but it's effective in link diversity cause Google Search Engine likes to see a combination of follow and nofollow links.

In a nutshell, use them because it looks good in the eyes of Google.
