I'm developing some kind of bot/software that scraps a big amount of pages that allow commenting and posts comments for the linkback. Now, before I actually finish doing something useless I wanted to be sure from the experienced people at BHW, nofollow links do help anyway? I'm pretty sure I've read in a few threads they do help, even if they are not as important as do-follow ones.
I've checked these websites, and some even are do-follow, so it might be somehow good anyway.

pd: if I get to finish this tool I'll release some version here when I can!

    Thanks!

i think it's not the matter of helping or not but rather to make your whole SEO efforts look more natural to Google. If you have 1000 do follow backlinks and 1000 other nofollow links I guess Google would see it as more natural instead of only 1000 do follow backlinks and 0 nofollow links. Because when it comes to real/viral backlinks, Google knows it always get nofollow backlinks as well as do follow ones.

I also build some nofollow backlinks to my main site and apparently my SERPs are doing good now.

Yes - they will help with your SERP's but won't pass on linkjuice.

They both make things more natural and help. Despite what G intended NoFollow did not rid the Internet of spammers and thus its not really treated as it initially was. Now its just one of many factors that determine the weight of a backlink.

I know people will disagree with me, to you I say good job reading and repeating stuff. I have done tests on fresh sites with 100% NoFollows and ranked them.

As far as I can tell it is just one factor such as:
    Anchor text
    OBLs on page
Authority of page/site link is on
    relevance of site
    etc.

to the OP, before you continue to design your site, Scrapebox already does what you describe.

Well, fair enough, but AFAIK Scrapebox isn't free, and I'm intending to develop a good scraping method froom google and another step for posting. Anyway, the core of the application can help me make further programs of the same kind.

I thank all the people that answered the post. When I finish the tool, I'll create a dummy website (x.blogspot.com or something like that), see how the posting affects the website ranking and create another thread to inform you guys.

Up till now what i experience is No follow links are important when blogs are more likely relevant i see many websites ranking well with this technique.I also believe they are as important as do-follow but not 100% becoz do follow links give other power too in SERP and page Rank etc

    OP, good info above.

    Just another points:
    - NoF0llow - The best are from constantly updated, reputable sites.
    - DoF0llow - The best are from Higher PageRank sites.

    ;)
