I have been looking at jumping into the youtube game and had a question about keyword competition. I am trying to rank youtube videos and then offering a clickbank product.

I have found a keyword that seems decent that has 21,000 local exact searches a month but there are no ranking youtube videos on the first page. Does this mean it would be easy to rank a video on the first page?

At first I thought it would be but noticed that the two videos on the 2nd page "exact" results had 100,000 views each and were properly optimized for ranking videos in google.

Would it be easy to get first page results with my video if I
-Bought views, comments, likes and optimized the video properly
    -Bought social signals fbook,twitter,retweet,google +
-Bought a blog comment and forum profile package

    Any help would be appreciated!

    -Brad

I looked up the youtube videos backlink and this is what ahref said:

    URL
    Rank: 0.2

    Ahrefs Domain Rank: 809 K

    Backlinks: 23 K

    Referring domains: 937

Shouldnt this video be on the first page?

Google does what Google wants. I would say that if there's no youtube video on page 1, that is a good thing. It means you have a good chance of ranking it on page 1.

Would it be easy to get first page results with my video if I Bought views, comments, likes and optimized the video properly - hard to say but you will only find out if you actually test it.

Other things to consider, do the videos on page 2, have any real description? In other words, what they essentially say in the video, do they include an article in the description? Make sure you include proper keywords for your tags etc.

Make sure you include your keywords in the title within reason of course.

Name the file you will upload into youtube with your keywords can make a small difference if everything else is about equal. Look at various services around the forum to decide on your next move.

    Thankyou for the replies :)
Yes. The descriptions have long descriptions that look keyword targeted.

I guess the only truly way to know is to test and see if I can outrank

Any tips on ranking youtube videos?

    I know I have to:
    -Optimize headline
    -Description
    -Url first word in desc
    -Tags
    -Tags in the description also
    -Watermark
-Call to action at end of video

+Get views, comments, likes, fav, subscriped (I am going to pay for beeter views that will view 5 minutes at vagex)
    +Get social links
    +Blog and forum backlinks

    What do you guys think?

also I am going to use a actual domain that is close to the domain of the poduct I am selling and redirect the youtube traffic to that clickbank product.

It might give more trust to people instead of the usual bitly link

I find that my YT videos bounce around a lot. They don't seem to stay in place too long. Seems Google tweaks the algo for videos quite often.
