When a network says no "search traffic is allowed" does that mean you can ONLY use banners and email? If not, what type of traffic is allowed? Sorry if this is a n00b question, but I just wanted to make sure.

If it says "No Search Traffic is allowed", that means that you cannot generate search engine traffic but you can use email advertising and promote via banners and text ads on content networks. You could still generate search traffic but would have to blank your referrer or cloak.

Yes, youtube traffic is fine since you can use dot.tk to shorten your URL and it will show up as a blank referrer to them since it will be mostly type in traffic. For instance if your promote ringtones on youtube and watermark it with Ringtones.tk, visitors will type it in directly in their browser and therefore it will blank the referrer.

You can still promote the offers on search engines via SEO.. When they say search is not allowed, it typically means the merchant is advertising pretty heavily with paid search themselves and do not want any competition.

OOh thanks! I don't even have to blank there referrer then because youtube traffic is allowed as long as it doesn't come from copy righted video wich I don't use anyway.

True and sometimes they say that just because they don't want you to use their domain name and direct link. I had that happen to me before. I asked them if it would be ok if I made my site with my own domain around their product, and then do ppc, and they didn't have problem with that.
